I think that sometimes it's the only promise a CoP can make. "Engaging in this might not change anything about the situation, but it means that you never have to face it alone" #LTHEchat

Hopefully you have other people who think about it with you? I enjoy CoP work, because when in doubt I view it all as a big experiment - where everything we try is a chance to learn (especially when it doesn't have the expected outcome!)
#LTHEchat - CoPs are about learning and developing - if you have consistent membership, their needs will change over time as they develop! So might need new activities. At the same time, if you have new people joining, then some existing activity might still be needed.
#LTHEchat I think boundaries do matter - to talk about "what we do here" implies some idea of what "here is". At the same time, I look more to "what is our focus - what are we here to do" - so less the boundaries and more what's at the heart of the community
A4 #LTHEChat and when they do share - expressing appreciation and thanks.
A4 #LTHEChat Re-welcoming. It's intimidating to join an established community / conversation. It's important to welcome again and again and explain how to participate (both expectation and opportunities)
#lthechat - that assumes that people can see the benefits of participation BEFORE they participate. I wouldn't "bribe" anyone, but I do think that exploring how to express value, and how to reduce barriers to entry and participation is important.
#lthechat - I think that the group can also run out if the focus of the group is too far from other elements of their practice. If group conversations don't help me do something better, I'll probably wander off after a while.
#LTHEchat - I think that CoPs can be nurtured - like a plant, I don't make it grow, but I can make it much more likely it will grow!
Yes! I find that there either needs to be a level of skill in the group to learn from, or a passion to find ways of learning / experimenting / exploring together.
Getting excited to read the contributions and thoughts on tonight's #lthechat topic
