Ooh! Those are some pretty sweet pick-ups!
Ooh! Those are some pretty sweet pick-ups!
This drives me insane. The deadline for Japanese manga creators is barely a week before their print date. WHY?! Scale it back two weeks and localization gets easier and better and there's no more last minute one-week "hiatuses" because a manga didn't make it in on time. What's the downside?
Oh, cool! Yeah, Devil's Crush was great! Lemme know if Xenotilt turns out to be any good.
Is this something I should be aware of?
Hmm... Mechanically it's a pretty good game! But it's targeted at a younger demo than most Tales games, so you need a decently high tolerance for power-of-friendship storytelling and contrived 90's anime melodrama. It did have some fun moments though. (I think I translated the skits?)
Translating puns is really time-consuming but I (usually) enjoy the puzzle of it. It makes me sad when translators just do it literally and let the joke die. (Although to be fair, sometimes you have no choice.) Thank you for noticing and appreciating that, it made my day! :D
And when I found "plosives" it kind of wrote itself! But I do remember searching for and finding an actual study about how dogs interpret human sounds and they really DO prefer plosives, which made me very happy because of course Loid would have read that and remembered it.
Yeah, the Japanese was a pun where Yor misheard "distinguishing between consonants" as "picky about causes of death." I think I just made one column with words about types of sounds and one with words related to manners of death and tried to find anything that could sound similar.
Oh! Thank you for noticing that! I was really proud when I came up with that and kind of sad that barely anyone seemed to notice. (Which was weird, because just a few missions later I got a ton of feedback on the "Swole Chihuahua" pun.)
Yooo! I do check in from time to time. Feel free to ask away, and thanks for the kind words! βΊοΈ
LOL, this is so accurate. Kuon, Anna, Grea & Norman sitting at the Rune board table before each match going "shall we defeat them by annihilating spacetime or just tell Lilanthim to eat them?"
My best client that constitutes 70% of my yearly income has stopped giving me work, so uh, if anyone needs some translating, boy howdy my schedule is WIDE open now.
"Let's form the greatest expedition in history!"
[6 seconds pass]
"Okay, done."
Yeah... Love the game but Act III is a mess.
Listen up, health article writers. You can order me to eat soybean powder mixed with unsweetened yogurt, but donβt you DARE refer to it as a βmidday treat.β
I'm curious how they handled the lines where the characters randomly throw in a "putain" or "merde."π€
OOF.
I can smell them through the picture! About to head outside, lift my nose to the sky and follow the scent Scooby Doo style.
Yeah, I feel you. I'm really enjoying Act II but Verso is just not the same. (And he better not be creeping on Maella!)
I know, right?!
This is utterly horrifying.
That is wild. Do these games benefit in any way from being on the VB? Or is it a make-Doom-run-on-my-toaster sort of clout thing?
Whaaat? Is there a Virtual Boy hacking scene or something? I'm so out of that community!
Rad! What game is that?!
These are really interesting! I hadn't considered the degree to which Milchick's vocabulary would be a localization challenge. Dylan's voice casting sucks, though. They made him way too goofy. Curious to hear what they do with Burt.
Wow! That's awesome! How much work did it require?
Ooh, nice! Which Grixis deck will you be splashing it in?
Imagine how impressed the actual game designers he employs must be when he declares he can intuitively understand everything about their game by watching it for a few seconds.
Is that adorably condescending ball of floof a Lhasa...?
That episode was the peakest of the peak.
You too! All's well hereβand I hope the same for you and yours! (And that you're enjoying the snowβeven if it's just a little.)
