🏥 Surrey Memorial Hospital is opening a new unit with two cardiac catheterization suites and two interventional radiology suites, bringing advanced cardiac and image-guided care closer to home.
These will be the first cardiac cath suites south of the Fraser River.

Proud to join federal partners, the City of White Rock, and the Semiahmoo First Nation to announce a joint $10M investment in stormwater upgrades along Marine Drive. Cleaner water, safer roads, and stronger protection for the community.

Again, our shared goal is to get the workers back safely and that is the immediate focus of all our efforts.
Mining operators in B.C. – including Newmont – have highly trained Mine Rescue teams at the ready to respond in emergency situations.
and I’m heartened to see the immediate support that’s been provided from others across the mining industry, in the form of supplies, equipment and expertise to assist with this situation.
The Ministry of Transportation expedited a permit to allow heavy equipment to be moved from the nearby Brucejack mine to Red Chris to assist,
The Ministry of Mining and Critical Minerals has dispatched a geotechnical inspector of mines to the site to work with Newmont to support their rescue efforts, and we stand ready to offer any assistance necessary.
Our thoughts are with the workers, their families and co-workers, and we will do everything we can to support the company’s efforts to ensure the affected workers are brought to safety as soon as possible.
We are aware of the incident at Red Chris Mine in Northwestern B.C. and are working closely with the mine operator to support them.
Canadians are positive people.
We’ve always been good neighbours, but we know how to stand up against threats to our sovereignty, our economy and our jobs.
