Otherwise, soon your history will become a repetition of mine.
Fight like Ukraine.
Do not forget about us. Do not feel even a drop of respect for Russians β they are creatures who deserve the worst consequences.
Eternal honor to those who have already fallen in battle for Ukraine. A deep bow to those who are fighting in combat zones and working in military headquarters.
You canβt convey the fear you feel when you hear an enemy drone descending over your apartment. When you hear the whistle of a missile. When you hear explosions and see smoke outside your window.
We feel safe literally nowhere, yet we do not leave our land β because it is OUR land.
From the fact that someoneβs home no longer physically exists because Russians wiped it off the face of the earth.
We write about our trauma in books, articles, blogs, and poems. But words can never convey the pain you feel from losing loved ones, from losing your home.
One of my friends lost her father and her fiancΓ© to the war. Another lost her grandfather β killed by a Russian drone, and her mother lives in Kherson, where a horrific βhuman safariβ takes place daily. I have lost a colleague and classmates from uni to the war, and most of my family is in army.
We all live in defiance. This has touched every family.
What is important to understand is this: for three generations in a row, Ukrainians have been trying to survive despite all the efforts of the Russians. Many have been living in this reality since 2014 β twelve years already. My parents, my friends, and I; the small children of my friends.
I regularly message with my family, who are enduring daily Russian drone and missile attacks. Tonight, two explosions were heard in Lviv β a terrorist attack in the city. There are dead and wounded.
February 22.
In 2026 I am in Lviv: I moved here because it is the only place where I feel at least somewhat βat home.β My emergency backpack is always packed. Unfortunately, the psyche has adapted to the horror that constantly unfolds around us.

In 2022 I am packing my emergency backpack and trying to explain to those around me that something terrible awaits us. The Crimea and Donbas scenarios are repeating themselves exactly. Only a few people listen to me.
when the rest of the country is engulfed in the fire of revolution and mourning the first victims who laid their lives on the line for the countryβs European future; and when soldiers without insignia are roaming your hometown β something terrible is approaching.
I was 16. I didnβt understand much about politics at the time, but I understood very clearly that when your father is guarding a headquarters and hasnβt come home for nearly three weeks;

In 2014, my family and I were still in Crimea. We were staying at my auntβs house because it was unsafe to remain in our own home: there were rumors that Russian soldiers were abducting the children of Ukrainian servicemen.

A long π§΅. Please read and try to understand it.
My sincere condolences to the family of the deceased π«
This should never have happened. If only russians not exist.
There is still no info about who exactly is behind it, but I am certain it was the russians. If not with missiles and drones, then they terrorize us with terrorism.
I still remember how in 2014 there were info about terrorist attack and we were warned to be careful.
In the morning, the news already reported that a young 23-year-old policewoman had been killed. Fourteen people injured. All in critical condition. A terrorist attack.
By inertia, I checked the app (who knows, maybe I hadnβt heard the sirens) β no alert. A few minutes later, the first reports appeared in the news: something had exploded in the city center; there were victims; police and emergency services were working at the scene.

Yesterday at Lviv I was reading a book late at night. Suddenly, the silence was pierced by the sound of an explosion. First one. A couple of minutes later β another.
To be banned because you want to respect a memory about dead Ukrainians.
What a downgrade for the world, we are not in 2022 anymore. Itβs not popular to pay attention to the biggest war of XXI century.
Btw itβs an air raid alert on all Ukraine because of russians.
Vladyslav Heraskevych was disqualified from competing in Winter Olympics because of his famous helmet.
I will use my favorite picture from the internet to represent my feelings about this.
The bodies of a mother and her 11βyearβold daughter lay in black bags on the groundβΌοΈ
Russia killed them by bombing their home in Sloviansk - a place where they should have been safe.
Thereβs a saying in Ukraine βone warrior can stand alone in the fieldβ β and this is a real-life confirmation of that saying.
Against everything, putting a career at risk, but for the sake of truth.
Iβm happy to live among such incredible people!
