Oo, a @kevlin.bsky.social in a jukebox exhibit at the Railway Museum in Utrecht
Just how many everyday items need to be cloud connected?
Examples from home IoT should already have warned everyone about this.
I'm afraid this is a complete UX fail for me for the new look @metoffice.gov.uk web site design, especially on a mobile screen. Not as clear, you have to scroll to see the temperatures and hourly detail. Understand 'now' details which being useful to some. But I have a window to see outside...
My mistake to update the native Clock app in Android. It has been hit with the ugly stick very hard. I used to code software for clocks on broadcast TV (GMTV, Sky News). This auto sizing that moves the items below it is shocking. I threw out kerning and adjusted for every number, aren't that many.
A #kevlinhenney on BBC South Today weather bulletin last night, did feel for the poor weather presenter waiting for the 'hourglass' to go away. @kevlin.bsky.social
In October I will be speaking at Techorama, in Utrecht, about the real world example of using an incident plan to mitigate against the effects of the worldwide IT outage created by an update to CrowdStrike.
Even my local railway station was affected.

Fake website servic welcome page. text reads: "Your favorite tool is now ruined by AI" "you might not like it but shareholders love it"
when you open a service you've been using for a decade only to find it out it caught the virus
So how are you doing it?
Had an ex-boss ask about one of my NDC talks and his question was, what are the takeaways?
Hadn't even thought that was relevant.
Note the use of the term ex-boss.
Like looking at a painting and asking for a little plaque next to it to tell you what your key takeways should be.
Hey you! Yes you! I'm a huge fan and would love to work with you!

So what we really need is a DSL to help with expressive yet precise language? π€£
Was indeed my thought. Why would you not remove and cut it up...
Result!
Also applies if you took part in a quiz show on public broadcasters.
Why would anyone have believed otherwise?
Same goes for Github.
If you yell something in public make sure you are OK with everyone hearing it.
Important to remember that when one is slightly squiffy.
Taken around 9pm five years ago on cycle home after three of us 'tidied up the office' as we would be working from home for a bit. We had no idea what was coming.
It isn't a thread. Not in teams.
This is not who moved my cheese?, this is who vomited on my screen?
I know @transportforlondon.bsky.social have UX designers so why did they ignore them on accessibility between clean Oyster app start screen and the horror that is the TFL Go app. The start screen is messy as hell and ignores my previous view and shunts that button off the screen?
Hopefully see you at the party and I can chat about working with grids with graphic designers on Sky News - automating weather, sport and election results. I learnt quite a bit about fonts, and not abusing them.
I will be wearing a suit (this will make much more sense later)
Definitely felt the right length to me. I didn't get the sense that you were padding at all.
