I recommend Alpha Centauri, I think you'll love it.

Is there enough fuel minable for EU to be self-reliant? Which countries would be fully self-reliant within EU? Having good local renewables and not being tied to limited resources that need to be imported seems like a better deal to me. I'm no energy scientist so I'd love to hear more on that topic.
