Tears and laughter today at the opening of the Memory Garden for Golden Girls Wendy, Carole and Sue on Kingsmead Estate. @ecoactivesocial.bsky.social 70+ volunteers and Sanctuary Housing created a beautiful wildflower meadow + places to sit, play and enjoy. Looking forward to seeing it grow.
Growing up in rural Ireland there is an unspoken code that private property rights are supreme & you dont squeal on your neighbour.
That culture hasnt served our environment or communuties well & its a conversation that needs to be had.

The Lord Mayor and Dublin City Councillors offer their solidarity to the Mayor of Istanbul Ekrem Δ°mamoΔlu, following his arrest and detention as part of a wider campaign to prevent him contesting the Presidential election. We note with deep concern the growing authoritarianism of Turkish rule under President ErdoΔan and call on the Irish Government, the EU and the Council of Europe to act within their powers to support free, fair and democratic elections in TΓΌrkiye, protect the freedom of the press and the right to protest. In particular, we call for a review of TΓΌrkiye's role in the Council of Europe and accession status to the EU in light of recent events.
