🚨 The first human H5N1 HPAI 🦠cases in Wyoming. The individual has been hospitalized, making them the third in the US to be positive and need hospitalization. This is not great news when the least populated state has a human H5N1 case. NGS 🧪 results are pending.

Just wrapped up an amazing whirlwind training in Nairobi, Kenya with the Association of Public Health Laboratories, Leonard Kingwara, and MoH Kenya NPHRL staff. Discussed expansion to 21 sites and trained on NGS with the Illumina COVIDSeq assay and Freya pipeline from @kgandersen.bsky.social lab.
