Hmmm. There are likely way more non-vegans who think that. Why target the segment that is likely already more aware?
Unfortunately the powers of the world have learned from history and are repeating it - intentionally. Theyβre taking the bits of the NAZI playbook that worked, adding better tech, weapons and media psyops.
We are watching a new Axis and are just as powerless as our grandparents were.
Yeah, I noticed at the bathroom door doesnβt swing both ways
Bin grade hier hergekommen um genau das auch zu sagen.
Many humans have grown up in a way that has dulled their empathy towards other sentient creatures. I think we should show children the love for all creatures, not just the ones weβve been told are pets.
#apple effectively bricked my iPhone SE with the last update. Slowed it way down and battery life is now 20 minutes of Duolingo. I guess that is the end of 20 years of apple products for me. What non Apple smartphone would you recommend?
It's vile to kill people. There is no justification. Ever.

Is it just me or does the new MS NOW logo look an Austrian TV channel? #msnow #orf
Members of the Nazi Party were not satisfied; they wanted Hitler as Chancellor; β¦. Communists, filled with as intense excitement as the Nazis, had no time to notice the lethargy and tired indifference with which β¦ the people regarded the political muddle.
Tan book cover with cream coloured rectangle on which the title and author are written βCrooked Cross by Sally Carsonβ
This one is a novel, published in 1933 by an English woman who had spent a lot of time in small town Germany in the early thirties. A review at the time said βitβs a blessing to read a novel which deals β¦ with the poignant predicament of our timeβ
Roasted mushrooms, Chinese cabbage and tofu on a white plate. The toppings.
The final result for my son (no vile vegetables). Broth and tare mixed plus soba noodles, Tofu chunks in a blue ramen bowl
A heaping tablespoon of homemade tare inside a blue ramen bowl
The broth making process: lots of chopped vegetables gently simmering in a large shiny silver stock pot. Wooden spoon laid across the top.
Made ramen from scratch yesterday. Spent the day chopping and stewing. Individual ingredients tasted flavourful but harmless. The combination was hellfire! (But so delicious) #vegan #whatveganseat #ramen
Does anyone know whether this big ambitious project to modernise the SSA codebase has been accomplished?
Funky things while travelling: Just saw a totally random border control check in the train. Two officers took care of checking the one black passenger. I took out my passport and they didnβt even look at me. Nor at the obviously ticketless travelling (white) dude.
Funky things while travelling. The person who forgot to shower for the last week or so. Travel is stressful. I get it. But please be mindful of the other people on that plane. βοΈ
Itβs November and I slept with the window open. The real kicker was the mosquito waking me up at 2am. Weβre having a βNovember-Summerβ in Europe. THATs a thing now. #climatechangeisreal
Funky things while travelling: The person who comes into your row, plunks down on the aisle seat and proceeds to fill the middle seat with junk before realising shes not in business class and has to gather all her stuff to allow someone to sit in the middle.
Three samples of quince jelly on the windowsill. On the left a jar filled with deep red jelly, covered with a screw cap decorated with berries. In the middle an almost empty jar with shiny red jelly covered with a screw cap labelled βRigioni di Asagioβ (reused former jam jar). On the right is a small sample tub of jelly with a pull-off top decorated with two yellow quinces.
Four homemade crumpets, three of them covered with some crunchy peanut butter, sitting on a white paper towel. In the top left corner a hand is partially visible holding the opened small sample tub of quince jelly from the store.
The same four crumpets on a paper towel with peanut butter as in the previous picture. The hand in the top left corner is holding the partially empty jar of homemade jelly in a deep shiny red color.
Four crumpets on a white paper towel. Top left one has a smattering of golden transparent jelly on a base of crunchy peanut butter. Top right similar but with light red jelly. Bottom right similar with deep red jelly. The fourth crumpet bottom left of the picture is plain, waiting for the winner of the taste test.
Today I taste-tested two batches of homemade quince jelly vs one sample of store-bought. They are not even remotely in the same category. Homemade yum. #vegan #homemade
Iβm currently reading (auto)biographical accounts of Europe in the 1930βs and 1940βs. It strikes me that every one at some point relates how friends and family members encouraged later survivors to leave and how they stayed because
a) donβt want to leave family behind
b) it wonβt happen here
hot take: if your HR team is still manually writing job descriptions in 2025, youβre basically hand-washing clothes when washing machines exist π§Ί
GenAI means your HR department can finally stop cosplaying as excel sheets with feelings. Delegate the boring bits to the robots already

Trigger warning: screenshot of two diametrically opposite posts about animals. Top picture shows a small monkey being tortured (for science?), constrained in a metal clamp and clearly conscious of his distress. Bottom is a group of four photos of a grey and black kitten playing.
These two posts next to each other on my feed describe the fundamental issue with so much of the world: cherish your pet while torturing an equal being. As long as we can tolerate that brainsplitting fact I donβt think we can evolve into a peaceful world.

History repeats.
Colorful high rise storefronts in Akihabara at sunset with many shoppers in the foreground
Looking at a boyβs head with yellow golden and flame red hair (anime style) looking through figurines at a store in Tokyo
Super colorful storefront of a multi-storey anime and manga themed shopping center arcade
That sounds very similar to a βwalkβ I took with my son through Akihabara.
4 Freshly picked quinces in a silver bowl
Cleaned up and chopped in a silver bowl on electric scales
The finished article. Red golden quince jelly in a glass jar.
Time for quinces!
