I believe you believe she believes and we are so back!!!!
I believe you believe she believes and we are so back!!!!
Yes that’s how we played against you and I feel like we advanced the ball decent enough in the 1st half(considering the opponent).
I understand what you mean but I don’t think it’s that cause we manage short fast combinations better with her. That’s truly the unanswered question on spurs twitter😂
Which makes sense but I would just play Summanen, Ahtinen and then Spence as a 10. That's what makes the most sense for their characteristics and that's how we’ve played our best football.
And yes she has a decent shot and has scored 2 very pretty goals for spurs!
Thank you so much! I do struggle a little to understand why she isn’t one, as she contributed a lot to Spurs’ flying start last season before her injury. I think it’s mainly due to physicality + Vilahamn playing 2 up top a lot and not wanting to bench Spence so he plays her as a dm
Won’t find a better goal this season. Eveliina Summanen, take a bow. 🤩
Good day of Spurs. 👊

San Marino is PROMOTED to the Nations League C, what a story
For a team that has struggled so much with initial build-up play, having a playmaker in midfield who can control the tempo and dictate the play seems crucial. But I’ll leave you to draw your own conclusions, hoping that we can find the right balance soon.
I hope I’ve clarified things regarding this. It seems evident that the two defensive mids and the attacking mid should be a balanced mix of builders with different characteristics and invaders with good refinement skills.
Bartrip - Builder 🏗️, sort of
A CB with good ball-playing abilities, Bartrip has recently been tested in the two defensive mid positions.
However, she lacks the short playmaking ability and positional awareness required for the role, making her more of an emergency solution.
Wang - Invader 🚀
A pure invader, Wang has never been used as a builder or in the two defensive midfield positions.
She can hold width, utilizing the wide spaces effectively and has good carrying abilities.
Oroz - Invader/Builder 🔄
Based on her experience at Madrid, she appears capable of performing both roles.
Has the short playmaking of a builder, but seems to have less tempo management and ‘control’. She too requires a teammate with high intensity to complement her play.
Ahtinen - Builder 🏗️
The only player on the team with a full range of playmaking skills. Excels at controlling the tempo and spaces of the game. Always wants the ball to progress it.
She requires a teammate with high stamina and the ability to cover large areas of the field.
Spence - Invader 🚀
A regular starter when available, Spence excels at receiving the ball between the opposition’s lines and finishing with a shot or final pass. When shifted into a builder role, her short playmaking skills aren’t as effective, causing her to shine less.
Summanen - Builder 🏗️
A player who seems indispensable in Vilahamn's setup. She contributes well to short passing sequences but is in this category mainly due to her positioning on the field. Her role is less about playmaking and more focused on disrupting the opposition's play.
The terms "builders" and "invaders" are used by some federations to describe player’s function on the pitch.
Builder = operates behind the opponent's second line of pressure
Invader = operates beyond the opponent's second line of pressure
Thread: builders and invaders in Tottenham’s midfield.
Spurs have had a lackluster start to the season, struggling in several phases of play. Ball progression, as admitted, remains a key issue. Beyond rotations, players' traits are vital to shaping an effective midfield. 👇
