Four intense supercells from my WRF sim of the March 14th, 2025 tornado outbreak. This is a 1000m sim based on the 3/14 17Z HRRR and it is clear just how potent the environment really was based on the results.

My first ever WRF sim, with a 1500m resolution of a 135 minute period of the August 24th, 2023 MCS in Michigan.

Today’s NWS/NOAA firings are an atrocious decision. We’re losing hundreds of our best and brightest going into tropical and severe season. With further cuts on the table that would cripple essential services reach out to your congresspersons.

A random orange cat showed up while I was looking for owls and was shockingly photogenic for some reason lol.

This is one of the most irresponsible forecasts I've seen Accuweather make yet, pretty much no guidance would suggest or support the late half of this cone. Tropical forecasts for storms like Nineteen aren't easy, but the NHC knows how to handle it the right way. #PTC19 #Tropics

0-3km CAPE and low-level vorticity mixed with ample low-level shear does some strange things sometimes, if confirmed this would be only the 17th tornado in November in Michigan history.

Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders with one of the best plays you will ever see and a wild ending.

Best thing about bluesky is that I can get a feed full of #31SLS research posts and none of the other junk the bird app had with it. Liking the potential of the research side of this community here.

1. Shear *right next* to a volatile storm is usually considerably higher than just a bit away.. we are a ways from understanding which storms do that
2. There’s a noted quiet during tornadogenesis/intensification that i think many chasers have noticed that still feels hard to explain. #AMS31SLS

For beginners out there that are just getting their feet wet with Python, I put together this very simple SounderPy Cookbook that walks through a few of SounderPy's most basic tools and how to use them.

However important one thinks 3km CAPE is, it’s more important. #AMS31SLS

Can the positions of nearby cells/mergers help us discriminate between tornadic, non-tornadic, and hail-producing supercells? We find evidence for "yes".

Even outside of all the events going on with the "bird" app, I prefer quite a few features here. The UI is much cleaner here, as well as the better picture quality and the responsiveness of the website. You can tell how clunky and buggy twitter is in comparison to here.

Seems like bluesky has overall better photo and video quality, which is pretty impressive and hopefully as this grows it gets even better.

I can tell things are way better here than the other app, and I doubt I will miss it much at all. Let us make an even better weather community on here.
