Text: "Einaid brushed her fingertips over the fresh sigils engraved on her throat. Under the curse they laid, her vocal cords seared. She pulled her fingers away from the deep lines and hatches. Blood trickled down her sea-grey skin in thin rivulets of red. Red. Three days ago and since the moment of her conception, Einaid’s blood had been white."

I told myself I wasn't going to go crazy with illustrations since I have so many character portraits left to do and edits to get through before release in September, but the call of the illumination aesthetic was too great 😬
