So grateful for Congressmember Gutierrez, and his lifelong fight for justice! Pa’lante.

Even after the so-called “ draw down” of ICE forces (which is still somewhere between 500 or 600% more agents than 2025), community is left with fear and profound economic harm. As we fight for recovery, the state has to take action to support our businesses and our communities.

The cover shows Owner Porfino Castillo, who invested millions of dollars in Loma Bonita, a beautiful Latino supermarket. It opened in December to lines out the door. They are now in the fight of their lives to see this business survive.

It was fantastic to see my childhood hero, congressman Louis Gutierrez on the cover of this week’s Sun Current. As part of his trip to Minnesota, I invited him to come, be in community in SD 51 and listen to the residents, clergy and business owners devastated by Metro Surge.
