Oh, those sound so special! I haven't been to the zoo for ages and that must be rectified (are there any haunted zoos? I'll have to find out!).

Oh my goodness! That sounds extremely cute. I wish I could remember it - I do love a diorama. Thank you for telling me about it! βΊοΈπ»
Ooh, that sounds fascinating. I'm a sceptic, but I find the social history of ghost-hunting very interesting!
My finest achievement! ππ»
My parents still have this, too! π This is clearly where it needs to be kept (although I'm tempted to frame it...).
Haha - foiled by a one-year-old! ππ»
Thank you! βΊοΈπ»
Hahaha! And I got a whole certificate for my efforts, too! ππ»
If only I'd been well-versed in copyright law at one year old! π
I think you need to keep up the tradition and go ghost-hunting as a birthday treat this year! ππ»
Ha - brilliant! I might make him feel a bit old if I send a photo of it to him, but I'm tempted to try. π
I know! My parents don't remember much about it, sadly. I bet it was great fun (anything that involves a cool certificate at the end is always fun).
I was a ghost-hunting prodigy, clearly! π
Oh, fantastic! Thank you. βΊοΈ
π Haha, the coincidence is spooky!
Yes, it does. It's so sweet. My parents unfortunately can't remember much about it, but it's a nice thing to have unearthed!
It's wonderful, isn't it! I only wish I'd been old enough to remember it! More National Trust properties need to do ghost hunts in the middle of May. π»
To the person that did this child education/ engagement trail thank you. This is how you get them early to be lifelong lovers of history.
A National Trust certificate with an illustration of a ghost at the top. It reads: This is to certify that Alice Vernon has found the ghost in the secret room at the Overbeck's Museum, Salcombe, Devon. Date 22nd May 1994.
My parents have been sorting out the attic and came across this excellent certificate. Apparently my personal history of ghost-hunting goes back earlier than I thought! Even at the tender age of one, I was busy conducting important psychical research experiments in National Trust properties... π»π
More cats as bookstands, please.
Tibbs the black and white cat stretching obscenely long.
Thank you so much! I really hope you enjoy it, Jem. Tibbs appreciates the cat photo thiiiiis much. πΊ
My copy of Ghosted by @alicevernon10.bsky.social arrived!! V bloody excited to delve into this over the weekend. (I've seen people post book hauls on, like, pretty flower wreaths and rustic tables etc but I didn't have any of that so I just put it on a cat.)

Thank you so much! βΊοΈ
While people have long believed in ghosts, our search to find them began relatively recently. @alicevernon10.bsky.social looks at our (not always rigorous) quest for evidence in "Ghosted: A History of Ghost Hunting, and Why We Keep Looking." @bloomsburybooksuk.bsky.social
Oh, wow! Thank you so much, Jem. I really hope you enjoy it. βΊοΈπ»
I'll be talking about ghost-hunters in the archives with Sarah Sparkes and Ben Machell. Doing research at Senate House Library was one of my favourite parts of writing Ghosted, so I can't wait to nerd out about it.

I'm taking part in @forteanlondon.bsky.social's Strange Central day of talks on 18th April. The programme looks brilliant - I'm even going to be extremely brave and watch the talks on UFOs despite my childhood phobia of flying saucers! ππΈ

This is fantastic! Congratulations, Agatha. I can't wait to read it. βΊοΈ
Aberystwyth University's paved concourse at night, in thick fog. Two large lights loom out of the fog.
I came out of teaching Writing Horror this evening to what felt rather like the setting of a horror movie...
Hahaha, I shall duly report back! π«‘
