Scops Owl in Glamorgan last Tuesday evening, my 2nd one in the UK followed by Lesser Crested Tern in Devon the following morning @birdguides.bsky.social
Cheers Doug ๐ป
BOC of the Scops at Dunvant Park from half an hour ago. My second one in the UK and showed far better than the Durham bird in 2017. A few pints now then on to Devon in the morning for the Lesser-crested Tern ๐ค
Great shot Oli ๐
Trying for it tomorrow so hoping it's still around ๐
I messaged Jarrod this morning and he reckons its the same bird I seen at Howgate on the 28th. I've submitted a description to BBRC ๐ค
Did you manage any flight shots of it, Ian?
Great shots Ian
Marsh Sand has now been at Musselburgh for a month, first discovered on September 6th. Spotted Redshank also still around + the Spoonbill from yesterday evening reappeared on the lagoons early this afternoon @birdinglothian.bsky.social
Superb ๐
This is the only shot I got of it on the deck with its head up
Thanks Phil. I thought the heat haze was going to put an end to them but they turned out okay after some editing.
American Black Tern from yesterday am (31st July) at JMCP. Flew out to sea at 7am after 2 Arctic Skuas chased everything off Spike Island and never returned till 09:30 @birdinglothian.bsky.social
Thats a belter that mate. You haven't half had some amazing birds this spring ๐
The "out the bag job" that you needed a special invite for ๐
When there was an Eyebrowed Thrush on the loose, you should hang your head in shame ๐คฃ
Dotterel still at the summit of Carnethy Hill earlier this morning (20th May) despite first being reported on the 13th @birdinglothian.bsky.social
Were you working on Unst today? I'm night shift tonight and tomorrow so no chance of it hanging on till Wednesday ๐
Well done mate, some bird ๐
Smart looking bird that mate ๐
Cheers Dougie ๐ Bit of a mad day but well worth it ๐
Thanks John. Just a pity we didn't hear from you sooner. Time was definitely against us by the time you called ๐
Bit of a mad day yesterday, walked out of a hospital appointment in Edinburgh, seen the news and was north bound, heading for the Butt of Lewis for this Solitary Sandpiper. Arrived in the nick in time as it fed in a ditch, right in front of us @birdguides.bsky.social
There hasn't been many reported this winter, Steve.
My first Snow Bunting at Musselburgh for a few years, this one seemed very tame all by itself around lunchtime, along the sea wall to the west of the old scrapes @birdinglothian.bsky.social
First day out in 3 months after my surgery and couldn't think of a better way to spend it. Booted Eagle and Least Sand ๐ป
Fingers crossed for a view like that mate. Could be doing with the Booted making an appearance as well ๐ฌ
Good luck Mike ๐
Re-edited some shots from my trip to Israel in 2019 with Phil Jones & Andy Stirrat, quite happy with the results. Black Bush Robin was the most sought after + Blackstart and Ruppell's Warbler.
Seeing as Little Bunt has been quoted, I'll go for Chestnut-eared Bunting.
