Gun suicides hit a record high in 2023, accounting for 58 percent of all gun deaths that year. “Donna’s Law,” a model piece of suicide prevention legislation, offers a novel way to address this crisis: by letting people ban themselves from buying guns. It’s gaining momentum nationwide.
