Addendum: I think when a turn-based RPG's big draw is how fun the combat system is, I tend to have basically negative interest in it. I want the combat to support the narrative, I don't want to spend a bunch of time sifting through pages of equipment and spells to figure out synergistic builds.

there's so much bad in the world but there's also people who lift up and carry an elderly bat around every day so he can pretend he's flying again, and that's the part of the world I think is worth fighting for
