Really enjoyed my first full week as an AP at my new school. Highlights are a new member of staff feeding back how much he values our visible leadership and being able to make positive feedback home about some fantastic fresh starts.
Another inspiring talk. I have used "when I say go and not before" and "3,2,1....go" since I last heard Pritesh talk, and what a simple but effective thing it has been!
A very simple way of teaching multiplying and dividing negatives. "Every negative needs a friend"
Looking forward to researchED next Saturday! Who else is going to be there?
I once failed #1 by losing weight over the summer. Those were the days! ๐คฃ

The clarity of explanation is more important, but the check allows the teacher to be sure it was effective.
I've previously had students draw a quick picture on a piece of paper, rip it into 6 pieces, label them up (packet number, sender, recipient) and send them across the classroom. Also covers the concept of routers.
Congratulations! Never forget you were appointed as the best person for the job.
I once overheard a student saying "the Italians do not have a language". When I asked what they meant, they said, "they say normal words like pizza and pasta, but with an accent" ๐คฆ๐ผโโ๏ธ
Hello! I'm an Assistant Principal at an 11-18 secondary in Cambridgeshire.
My main aspiration for my kids is sending them to uni knowing how to flip a pancake.
Hi Paul, I will drop you a DM.
The keys got handed in eventually! Great work finding your keys in the water.
Just sharing a thread i shared a few days ago now that there are a lot more people here at #edusky. It's a sequence of form time lessons to teach pupils about cognitive science
I once lost a set of minibus keys while on a trip (group of kids very unimpressed). Since then I've had an irrational fear of handling keys! ๐
I added Enigma encryption to the curriculum this academic year. These Enigma cipher wheels from Bletchley Park's education centre allowed students to encrypt and decrypt with ease. #CASChat #CSEd
A bit of a random one for #EduSky - if students are constantly asking you to help tie their tie, this is incredibly easy to do for students and to teach them. www.youtube.com/watch?v=oPIB...
A Model for Great Teaching.
The fantastic evidence review from @evidencebasededu.bsky.social is really helpful for professional learning, development, dialogue & thinking about the key dimensions & elements of teaching & learning.
