Red Deer County rejects oil, gas company's bid for tax penalty forgiveness Outpost Energy Ltd.'s pitch could be viewed as precedent-setting if approved, administration told council

Love seeing this (and we need more municipalities taking action as well). According to data obtained by @brettmckay.bsky.social with @theijf.org, Red Deer County is owed more than $4.6 MILLION in unpaid municipal taxes from delinquent O&G companies. www.thealbertan.com/innisfail-ne... #ABLeg #ABPoli

Rogan Calls Trans People “Perverts,” Spreads School Shooting Lies On Show This week, on The Joe Rogan Experience: Steve-O and more anti-trans hate.

1. Yesterday, Joe Rogan called transgender people perverts and school shooters to his audience of tens of millions of people.

It was his most overt display of transphobia yet.

Democrats wanted to court this man and his listeners.

Sing, goddess, of epic rage: The irony behind "Epic Fury" The U.S. military's latest operation evokes Homeric rage—but its meaning is lost on the leaders who named it, while war's human cost is already unfolding

"The story of the Iliad is all about how epic fury leaves a wake of ruin in every direction. Repeatedly, the poem asks its audiences to consider at what point any of its violence is worth it."

The Carney government is also cutting prison librarians to save…$2.5m. This is now a theme with the federal budget - it’s not about cost savings, it’s about destroying access to knowledge and information. #Cdnhist

Note this IMPORTANT paragraph.

“Some urbanists claim [the 15-Minute City] manufactured controversy has ‘died down,’ but the truth is that in many ways, the disinformation achieved its goal.”

That’s NOT ok. With or without the brand, the concept of proximity is critical & common sense. Discuss it.

Refusing to build supportive housing for those who would otherwise be homeless means more unhoused people living on our streets and in our parks, AND much higher public costs paid by all of us. It’s as simple as that. #UrbanTruth

they knew they could get away with it because they practiced all those times on the “narco-terrorist” boats, where they also killed the survivors, and nobody sent them to The Hague about it so they are running completely unchecked right now with full use of the arsenal. I do not know how this ends

“But it makes no sense that we should be afraid of places where people can get most of what we need, closer by. Maybe our kids can even walk to the store! No walls, no guards…It’s just a normal, “common sense” place to live — as most cities used to be, before we mandated car dependency.” #UrbanTruth

Stanley Plotkin had a major hand in the development of a number of vaccines in use today; he designed the rubella vaccine. He remembers the world before widespread use of vaccines & knows what's coming as vaccine policy is rewritten & vaccine confidence is eroded. www.statnews.com/2026/03/02/s...

It’s entirely possible that this was at least partially about ending their association w/black and queer people. Now they will try to rebuild as the “safe” third space, by which they mean a space where white people feel safe.

The problem is the usual one. We make shit cool.

I paid $18,000 for a new high-efficiency heating system last year. I had one at my old house and expected to see a similar savings.

My bill went UP. Why? Not because of my usage; bc of the distribution and other charges tacked on by my utility company in PA. I’m subsidizing AI data centers. 😡
