A non-binding, but significant resolution sets out to European countries: Trans women are women. The European Parliament has passed a resolution on gender equality, which contains a declaration that trans women are women. Though not binding, it sends a clear message to countries all over the bloc.

Disturbing when we see this as the pattern of 1930s Germany wherein trans and gender diverse ppl are increasingly robbed of their rights. Wry laughter tho' for a group of stupid ppl who think trans and gd ppl make up 20% of the population (actually < 1%) and this will have electoral effects.

What's scary about this story is the surveillance it hints at. This trans woman had changed her name, legally, but chose not to change her gender marker. She was apparently flagged in the DMV system as trans and her license was invalidated under a law that supposedly only concerned gender markers.

Yes, I try to encourage ppl away from them. Meta is evil (many instances eg. not acting promptly on known sex offenders posting, allowing scams because the revenue from the ads is too good) and in collusion with 47 in the oppression of LGBT+ people.

The ABC article I find very disappointing: "This means no males, even those who identify as women, could attend." That is not LAG speaking, it is the writer of the article, effectively saying that transwomen are men who identify as women. I will be giving feedback on that thru their website.

I am exceedingly worried by the pattern both in the US and UK of eroding trans and gender diverse ppl's human rights and dignity. It is a tester and rallying point against < 1% of the population, the 'low-hanging fruit' as Catherine McGregor described. A precursor to abuses against all society.
