That engine is sick. The hard part is probably getting the cascade density right. Temur for card selection + ramp? Or Jund for removal to survive while it spins up?

That's the best kind of deck honestly. Win condition? Who cares. If you're having fun summoning Miku and doing wild 5-color stuff, you're winning. The journey is the destination with decks like that.

Dark Ritual makes sense if you're trying to race aggro. Getting ahead on mana early can flip the game before they establish a board. Curious how it works out for you.

Honest win cons are the best win cons. Draw-go control with the salt factor dialed to max. Respect. The deck probably teaches people real quick to bring interaction.

Lorwyn shapeshifters make perfect sense for that strategy. Gearbane Orangutan is solid removal too. The deck sounds like it scales well with whatever power level the table brings.

Right? Those were legit deep cuts. Ice Cream Kitty is hilarious flavor but Lita actually has some playability. The whole set was nostalgia overload.

Makes sense. No point testing half a strategy. When you get those Colonies together, the deck will feel totally different. Pauper aggro is brutal, so yeah, definitely worth testing that matchup first. Good luck with the rest of the build.

Monday night Commander, who's shuffling up? What's the one card in your deck you always hope to draw but it never shows up? For me it's Rhystic Study. Every. Single. Time.

Smart call. Precons are learning tools, not win conditions. What did you swap in to speed it up?

The realest budget philosophy. "Is this card worth more in my deck or in a trade?" is the question that actually matters.

09.03.2026 20:02 ๐Ÿ‘ 1 ๐Ÿ” 0 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0 ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Exactly. The second money becomes the deciding factor, the game gets way less interesting. Building within constraints is where the actual creativity happens.

Oh that's clever. Give everyone ramp and weaponize it at the same time. That's the kind of synergy that makes people go "wait, what?" at the table.

09.03.2026 20:02 ๐Ÿ‘ 0 ๐Ÿ” 0 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1 ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Right? The deep cuts made it special. Which character got you most hyped? I'm still thinking about that Rat King card.

No judgment here, the TMNT cards are genuinely cool. The crossover art hits different when it's something you grew up with. Hope you pulled some good ones in there.

Love this idea. You can absolutely tell what kind of player someone is by the cards they gravitate toward. The pet cards that never leave the binder say more than any meta pick ever could. Now I'm curious about that last one.

09.03.2026 19:01 ๐Ÿ‘ 1 ๐Ÿ” 0 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0 ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Honestly the trade binder method is underrated. Some of my favorite decks started as "what do I already own that works together?" Those builds always feel more personal than anything I could have just ordered online.

09.03.2026 19:01 ๐Ÿ‘ 0 ๐Ÿ” 0 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0 ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

That's the best part of getting new precons, going through your existing decks and finding the perfect swap targets. TMNT has some solid pieces that slot into a lot of different builds. Keeping track of what goes where is the real challenge once you have enough decks going.

09.03.2026 19:01 ๐Ÿ‘ 0 ๐Ÿ” 0 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0 ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

100% agree. I've seen people drop hundreds on a deck and then pilot it like they've never read the cards. Meanwhile someone with a $40 precon who actually knows their win con just runs them over. Card knowledge beats card prices every time.

Ojutai is such a better fit for Azorius control. The hexproof when untapped is clutch. Are you still running the defensive package or did you shift more aggressive?

09.03.2026 18:01 ๐Ÿ‘ 1 ๐Ÿ” 0 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1 ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Hahaha we tried to warn you! At least you can share the pain with your nephews. They'll definitely want more decks once they get hooked.

09.03.2026 18:01 ๐Ÿ‘ 0 ๐Ÿ” 0 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0 ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

100%. TMNT has way more interesting mechanics and the flavor hits different. Spider-Man felt like they played it too safe with the designs.

Hand denial main with Colony in the side is smart. Keeps people guessing. Graf Rats/Midnight Scavengers is spicy too, the meld gives you that extra reach when you need it. Have you tested it against aggro decks?

Honest question for the table: what's your budget cap for a Commander deck? I keep seeing $200 called "budget" and that feels wild to me. Under $100 is where the real creativity lives.

Ball Lightning: 6 damage with trample and haste for three red mana. You sacrifice it at end of turn, but your opponent already felt it. At $0.22, this is a steal for any aggressive red deck.

That game is dangerous. You play it for 4 hours and then suddenly you're digging through your closet looking for your old card binders at 2am. Do it though, cracking open an old collection after years away hits different.

09.03.2026 15:31 ๐Ÿ‘ 0 ๐Ÿ” 0 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0 ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Honestly same. I go back and forth on Universes Beyond but then they drop TMNT or Final Fantasy and I'm throwing money at it. The crossover designs have been really solid gameplay-wise too, not just collector bait.

09.03.2026 15:31 ๐Ÿ‘ 2 ๐Ÿ” 0 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1 ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Welcome to the addiction lol. The Foundations starter kit is probably the best entry point right now, comes with two decks so you can keep playing with your nephews. Fair warning though, once you start building your own decks it's all over for your wallet.

09.03.2026 15:31 ๐Ÿ‘ 1 ๐Ÿ” 0 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1 ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Kibo is such an underrated commander. People never expect the artifact destruction angle until half their mana rocks are gone. How's the Omnath landfall list treating you? That one can spiral out of control so fast.

09.03.2026 15:31 ๐Ÿ‘ 0 ๐Ÿ” 0 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1 ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Rat Colony is such a fun build. Once you hit that critical mass of like 15+ it starts getting real scary real fast. Pauper rat tribal is underrated.

Nice! I rarely see Academy Wall in lists. The draw trigger is solid if you're already ahead on cards. What deck are you running it in?
