Yeah. It kinda feels like a ladder pull vs new artists when not long ago it was common practice to use fanart as a way to grow account/biz

Event rules are event rules… I think we can at least inform people of some of the nuances. Esp with quality info getting harder to find

Kinda wish those beware scare monger posts would actually try to address the things artists can do to check and navigate some of the valid avenues available for this stuff.

You’re right that it’s often fluid, but “never ever” seems like it’s just farming engagement rather than equipping people

Take Photos Of Everyone

Gender, race, ability, Fursuit, body type … a con can have THOUSANDS of attendees and it’s never just those in costume participating. Make new friends, share the space, show others how they can fit in too!

I do encourage everyone to participate, but remember it’s not about being the \best photographer\. It’s about showcasing and documenting what the con or event is like. If you want to get onto staff, you just gotta do the work!

And don’t forget to photo all the cool stuff 💜

Every staff/volunteer job at a con is there because the con needs the labor of everyone to function. Just like reg, security, gofers, safety, and a hundred other jobs.

There are perks and rewards for everyone who helps… but you gotta be doing your part for the show!
