I can't recommend this book enough to anyone who is into ultra running/endurance or sports in general.
An important, eye-opening and inspiring book.

ICE has arrested and detained a Nashville journalist who reported stories critical of ICE. She’s married to a U.S. citizen and has been seeking asylum here after fleeing death threats in Colombia because of her journalism there.
They’ve already sent her to Louisiana.

I think my time teaching at university is done. Doing a 4-wk mini course and 2/29 showed up. Such a huge waste of my time when already v busy (although the 2 that were there were great). Universities will lose access to professionals actually working in the real world because there’s just no point.
R number somewhere between 12-18. Hangs around in the air. Imagine the infection control nightmare in a A&E waiting room (hopefully a patient with suspected measles would have been triaged on arrival). 1 in 5 cases hospitalised potentially. Huge knock on impact on your immune system after recovery.
None of it adds up…

Am writing about how to control a measles outbreak and I cannot stress enough how awful measles is, how you can’t escape it and how poorly it makes you. Also the MMR vaccine is very very effective. We’re lucky to have it.
I remember when presidents were constantly thwarted by that pesky congress even when they were trying do good things people wanted….
