Atlantic multidecadal variability control on European sea surface temperatures is mainly externally forced, Barghorn, L, Börgel, F, Gröger, M, Meier, H. E. M.
Fresh research incoming: my co-authors @florianboergel.bsky.social , Matthias Gröger, Markus Meier, and I from @ostseeforschung.bsky.social got a new article where we revisit the role of the Atlantic Multidecadal Variability for European sea surface temperatures: doi.org/10.1088/1748...

It is simultaneously true that:
1) This year's summer saw exceptional temperatures, smashing prior records.
2) There growing evidence of an acceleration in warming.
3) This year's temperatures are within the range of climate model projections, and models project some acceleration.

Hey all, what to expect here? In my research, I'm focusing on how the North Atlantic Ocean affects our climate. By combining global and local climate studies, I'm trying to provide a clearer insight into Northern Europe's unique climate patterns.
I also think we should all ride bikes!
