Help Save Leicestershireโs Bronze Age Torc
Help us raise ยฃ10,000 towards Leicestershire Museums' acquisition of this unique object so that it can remain in the public domain.
So close!! Can we get it across the line and into the safety of Leicester Museums Service, where it can be researched, studied... and looked after in perpetuity!

Itโs interesting and incorporates all the research but kinda lacking in parts, her tone sometimes makes big conclusions without justifying them. Strange as others found it too heavy I found it too light-the horse the wheel and language is a better read imo

I'm a little late today but wanted to contribute to #FindsFriday all the same
This week we have the not-yet-famous Middleham Assemblage, which I'm hoping will one day see its time in the sun! This is, still, an informal(ish) moniker for BM-7C4457 (finds.org.uk/database/art...), + has not yet stuck!

Excited to share that our co-edited volume on the Iron Age Philistine cemetery from Ashkelon is now out! This volume presents the bioarchaeological findings from the c. 250 individuals, each with a dedicated catalogue entry that synthesizes their stratigraphic, osteological & artifactual contexts.

โI wish it need not have happened in my time,โ said Frodo. โSo do I,โ said Gandalf, โand so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.โ
There are 2 books which I would strongly suggest for people to read or re-read: The Hobbit. The Lord Of The Rings. This is from The Lord Of The Rings chapter is The Shadow of the Past.

Panel 1.
A graveyard: the gravedigger sits on a pile of earth. Hamlet stands before him, holding a skull.
Hamlet: โAlas, poor yorick! I knew him, professor Horatio.โ
He tis looking at a lab-coated figure.
Prof. Horatio: โActually, my analysis suggests this skull belonged to a young woman from the late Neolithic era.โ
Panel 2.
Leaving the graveyard
Hamlet: โPrithee, Horatio, tell me one thing.โ
Prof. Horatio: โWhatโs that, my lord?โ
Hamlet (angrily): โDost thou have to spoil everything.โ
