My go-to example of something that is technologically very long in the tooth but basically immortal due to network effects is BoardGameGeek. I have debated often whether I could make a more modern and pleasant UX for that niche without having that user base or all the domain-specific content ready.

I am so unbelievably bad at Silksong. One boss kept me stymied for at least an hour straight yesterday, and it's still quite early.
