I will go ahead and do the other arm with this recipe and do the rest of the upper body and see how it all looks. It'll be easy enough to fix if it doesn't work, but I think this will turn out pretty cool looking when it's all said and done

Trying out this recipe for charred skin, gonna tweak it more! (this is a 32mm model, so the details are pretty small.) This yoke fiend model is only one step up from primed, has a couple of areas painted on it only if it looks patchwork and messy, lol.

with the news about Gang of Dragon, ballooning costs, the price of RAM/processors because slop, anyone who thinks GTA VI is coming out is way more optimistic than me

that said, GTA VI being cancelled might be the spark to topple everything, LMFAO. how many millions of people gonna storm the beaches

for 40mm, I think the AK texture works fine on capes, etc, but still might stick to the more fine corrosion for the smaller parts. Will help in keeping the better details(not that I mind some fudging when I'm going for characters who literally live in rusted, corroded armor)

A few things I'm learning with these models and doing more with that 'grimdark' style. with pre-weathering, I think for anything under 40mm, I'll be using stuff like AP's Rust or GW's Typhus Corrosion for texture, since its smaller, the jars of texture work better for slightly larger models.

Also amused by the fact that they left out the funniest detail that it wasn’t just Zenos yae Galvus who slayed him , it was Zenos yae Galvus, age 14

Paints: my major/favorite workhorses are the Army Painter's Warpaints Fanatic line, but I use whatever I need, from speedpaints to a few Scale 75 metallics(<3 Black Metal) to Vallejo's Obsidian Black TMM shade(awesome for reductive method), to Citadel shades/effects to Dirty Down Rust/Verdigris.

Finished the 2nd Trench Crusade Hell Knight! This unit has been a ton of fun to do with the grimdark experiment styles. I have a diorama planned for the Hell Knights as well(working on the 3rd.) Yes, they're all getting metal hair just because. #minipainting #grimdark #trenchcrusade

Getting Frost to do the drums, though, was perfect. Like if you're in Norway and you need a drummer might as well try to get one of the best in the black metal biz and he did just that

it's been 3 days and I'm still listening. Gildas Le Pape, for being mostly a jazz dude(mostly known in metal as session guitars for Satyricon '08 - '13), singlehandedly composes amazing black metal. Definitely "FFO Emperor, Dissection and other 2nd wave bleak, melodic and almost progressive stuff"

I was OG Balmung(I had my 1.0 stint there even, though it was on a different account), but I always mostly kept to myself and to my own little circles.

But I met a lot of the folks that I still talk to today due to the XIV community on Tumblr, even though I'm long past posting there.

Couple more WIPs of this guy with more stuff added. Probably will post again when I am totally finished another model or two! (one day I'll remember how to photography, I used to take good band pictures but I always seem to wrestle with my phone.)
