More to come as this reaches the retail pump. Stations are marking up what's already in their tanks now.

Excellent advice for primary elections.

Not useful if you want to unseat a fascist party that protects a fascist President.

Luckily, I don't live in PA, so I'll never have to hold my nose hard enough to vote for Fetterman, but I'd vote for any Dem in a General. Only way to end Republican majority.

Stop thinking about Trump as a personnel manager, or even a businessman. Start thinking of him as a television casting director, and his picks make sense. He just likes people he thinks look good on his reality tv show, which is all his Administration is to him.

I don't know about my fellow Americans, but I don't like being the bad guy. How do we stop this?

(Deleted earlier post for accuracy.) This is the futures contract for RBOB gasoline (90% of blended Regular, the rest probably ethanol). It's up 40% since Trump's war and ethanol is up 14%. Add the excise, road, sales tax and markups, you'll soon pay $1.25 more than you are now. Fill up today!

Insider trading.

Futures contracts on oil, gasoline, and distillates were up between 75% and 150%. That's the profit on your investment, from the Friday closing price to the Monday morning after Trump's war started.

As of THIS Friday's close, profit on each $5000 WTI contract is about $23,000.

It indicates the US Dollar is losing value at the same time the economy is contracting. Kind of a double-whammy.

ohhhhh.... lordy.

I'm not clear, though, that all the dominos are lined up to the edge of the cliff this time. Depends who's guaranteeing what, with what, etc.

One thing is certain, though. If this falls over, unlike Dubya's, Trump's people are complete, clueless shit, utterly unqualified.

Hard to believe that in a few short years American went from an eloquent, erudite, and compassionate leader to an obtuse, childish thug and con man.

All you need to remember about Trump's choices for important positions is he's not thinking like a personnel manager or even a businessman.

He thinks like a television casting director, picking people he thinks will look "good" in a "part" in his "show." Their "audition" was when he saw them on TV.

Yep. Trump is the weasel's weasel, the conman's conman, the carny's carny, the Pied Piper's piper!

Divine punishment for lying about his ear?

That could be the plot of an Aesop's Fable or Grimm's Fairy Tale!

I'd like a word with those doctors that lied about his injury.

Condolences. Most of the people in my orbit who moved there, most to retire, were well-established as secular, Jewish, Catholic, Mainline Protestant, or Theist, so way less susceptible to the wiles of Evangelical pastors and megachurches.

Let me correct myself...

Metro NY, including NJ.

You'd be surprised. I have retired friends and family in the area, all from New York, who are appalled by MAGA. They didn't move there a decade or more ago for the politics. MAGA wasn't even a thing at the time.

Focus on the prize -- Mar-a-lago!

Doesn't kill anything. Companies can build revenue taxes into their prices. It's also possible to have different tax rates for retailers vs. every other business.

I've read the Constitution.

People are allowed to worship in their religion of choice. The government is not.

This looks like an official government function and a "recognition" (endorsement) of an "establishment of religion" (denomination). That makes it illegal.

Surprise, surprise!

As always, Trump fucks things up!

Aside from being a crook, thief, liar, felon, demented megalomaniac, and rapist, he's also just completely incompetent.

One-month graph of Dow Industrial Average, showing significant decline.

One-month graph of Dow Industrial Average, showing significant decline.

Trump frequently tries to justify everything by the Dow Average. Well, the Dow is now saying that nothing Trump is doing is justified!

That's nothing yet. The full wholesale contract price of gasoline is not in the distribution chain yet. It's up 85ยข in the last week or so. By the time that reaches the pump in most urban/suburban areas, it'll be over $4.

FYI, "labor productivity" is actually a statistic with an inverse relationship to how much a worker benefits from their labor. The higher the number, the smaller the proportion of workers' value to a company's revenue is paid to them.

It's how much blood they can squeeze out of you.

25 years ago, from my kitchen window in Brooklyn, half mile off the harbor and 5 miles south of Wall Street, I watched the World Trade Center burn.

I'm a little further from both now, but that's still a prime target for geopolitical revenge for a US war.

Trump is killing us.

Well, not in Starr County, apparently. Cornyn and Paxton evidently didn't waste any effort on a 1229 square mile county with 65,000 people.

More people than that live within a half mile of my front door.

As much as I'd like to be excited by those numbers, I don't think they mean what you think they do.

Primary turnout may reflect voter participation levels and interest in the party's candidates, but is not indicative of a matchup in a general election.

That said, Talarico for the win!
