Digital colonialism is real and rife!
Australia bans social media for under 16s. Opponents’ position that there’s a risk of being cut off from the internet is the weakest argument yet
Looking forward to reading this, which looks at the platformisation of colonial practices such as extraction and control in multiple global contexts
This entire thread goes to show how easily businesses can and will manipulate employees with the capabilities of this tech

The removal of affirmative action is now seeing institutional discourse being replaced with more fluid terms such as ‘opportunity’ and ‘access’, and is also snowballing into wider public and commercial firms
It’s scary how much it’s getting fast tracked into public sector services!
It’s very problematic, various issues have been picked up from ethical to the poor quality of interactions. Particularly as one of the premises of interviews is picking up on cues during interactions and humanistic abilities of following up with appropriate prompts
As someone with a close friend awaiting a kidney, I can assure that nobody wants AI to make a ‘moral judgement’ on who receives one!
Its Head of Brand, Santino Pietrosanti, has a clear stance on DEI and making bold shifts. Looking at Jaguar’s financial and stock market performance, they had to make drastic changes. A car brand creating an ad campaign with no cars?
Is Jaguar’s rebrand a publicity stunt? Definitely not, but it’s clear there’s more to come. Lots of criticism about it’s ultra modern and supposedly woke campaign being the death of the iconic brand
