I remember a few years ago I had to have a conversation with my mum. I told her that I had decided to be more public with my campaigning and that this extra attention would likely pose a risk to me and Aimee’s safety and so I had taken extra security measures.
Amidst everything happening in the world right now it is so inspiring to see people rally around our community like never before. The turnout at the TDOV rallies, the Protect Trans Youth rallies, and the outpouring of solidarity we are seeing in response to anti-trans rhetoric is just incredible.
All trans people deserve safety, equality, and respect. And we won’t stop fighting until we win it.
We need real investment in trans lives to address homelessness and unemployment, trans health care to be accessible and affordable for everyone who needs it, and protection from discrimination in religious institutions.
