I canβt now recall the thinking behind combining coffee, cardamom and coconut but it works π I brewed this in my shed at least 10 years ago and now itβs on the bar at the Crown Posada. If youβre in Newcastle this evening come and hear the >140 characters version of the (admittedly nerdy) story
Come and join us in Newcastle on Friday next week! Weβll be propping up the bar at the wonderful Crown Posada where youβll find a dazzling array of STF beers on cask and keg.
Our first pale hoppy beer of 2026: US Pale - a lovely looking and ludicrously tasty Pale Ale full of juicy tropical fruit with a zingy citrus-pith edge. It lands somewhere between a NEIPA and a Westie- is this a 'No Coast?' Doesn't matter. Good beer is good beer.
Always a great pleasure to catch up with the legends of Leith @pilotbeer.co.uk
I love it when you walk to the pub, sit down with a pint and a packet of crisps and get a notification saying βMove goal achievedβ. Damn right! πͺ
Always nice to see you!
Saison!
Cheers! Just seen this, great to hear!
A decent evening right there.
Merry Christmas! π
You work with the best people π€
Iβm going to open a vape shop, or possibly tobacconist, and call it βWholly Smokesβ.
The pub where it all began for me π
βIn busier times, a table is won through stealth, trickery, speed and wit. Stand with your beer and enjoy the room as it is, using your peripheral vision to scout for a leaving group with the precision of a sniper. Swoop in with bags and coats, using the correct balance of confidence and manners.βπ
Iβve been saving this until I had time to relax and enjoy it. Where better than Fell NQ with a pint of Tinderbox

Thanks!
Two new beers this week -
Tenements Lager; 3.8% gluten-free. Our small batch take on a big Scottish favourite
Belgian Christmas Ale; 2025's vintage is 6.3% with a Stout-y grist that's big on chocolate/dried fruit and Belgian-style fermentation

No. 100 was Dubbel Date btw, the canned version. We did a bottled one too, but upped the amount dates this time around so, along with a new label, Iβm saying itβs unique

We include the malt bill, hop varieties and yeast strain used for every beer, mainly because I used to like seeing that info back in my homebrew days.
Iβve just uploaded the 100th unique beer to the βBeersβ page on our website. Iβm usually fastidious about doing this but I missed this one when we released it a couple of weeks agoβ¦ π

Festival season continues with a mini-run of three consecutive weekends later this month, starting with North Hop in Inverness on the 17th/18th, then itβs over to Edinburgh for the Big Swally on the 25th and back to Glasgow on the 1st Nov for Glasladiesβ Beer Is For Everyone.
Join us if you can!
ππ΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ Ώ A brown beer in the Belgian style with the trademark fruity Abbey Ale flavour profile and fortified with organic Deglet Noor dates.
Rich and complex aromas of dried fruit and banana mingle with delicate nutty and spice notes in a beer thatβs soft, smooth and deliciously easy drinking.

A nice write up of an enjoyable brew with Jim last week. Really looking forward to this beer being ready! π»

Itβs been a huge pleasure to have Jim ISBF here for a brew today. A few handfuls of spruce tips, juniper, some choc rye, a load of floor malted Pilsner and nae hops. Should be just the job on a rainy November night in Salford @salfordbeerfest.bsky.social

A timely read as weβre about to release our 2.9% Table Beer, which we brew with Euro/noble hops as well as US varieties. We do this for flavour and because the resulting complexity helps a lower ABV beer punch above its weight.
