Does anyone know if there is a clip link for today's CBC Ontario Morning show? Looking for the section on Nav's conversations in Peterborough. #Ptbo
I wrote a children's book about unhealthy relationships.
Every single time I see a clip of Poilievre, his smile creeps me out & I've realized, he is a fox. He uses his charm to convince people he's on their side & trying to be helpful while tearing their world apart. #NeverPoilievre
Your emails were so incredibly helpful last week! I referred to them for myself but also sent information to my students who were scrambling. Thank-you.
Does anyone know where to find information from tonight's debate at Lakefield College? #Ptbo
Back online after a week of state of emergency ice storm, power outages, flooded basement, website crash, failed brakes and family emergencies. What did I miss?
Think your vote doesn't matter? In the provincial election my newly 18 son figured out how to vote in Windsor (where they go to school, not home riding), & with ID issues since he doesn't go by his legal name. His candidate won by ~3 votes. #ElbowsUp Vote!
(I tell this to my College students!)
Itβs here! Itβs here! Itβs here! Iβve always been proud of my little library on my front yard and now it has incredible company! Thanks @emmaharrisonptbo.bsky.social ! #ElbowsUp #ptbo
I cannot wait to get to know you more throughout the month as you speak at debates and engage in interviews. With the information I have now, you have my vote! (I've already requested a lawn sign!)
spotted in the wilds of Peterborough! Let's make this happen!
Great idea!! Thanks Jeannine!

I'm hoping to spend time this summer recording audiobooks for my Pixie Series. Does anyone know of a space that I could use for recording? Bonus points if they also could help with the mixing etc. #Ptbo #CanadianAuthor
I teach at my local college & plan on spending time each week encouraging students to do some research, find a candidate that aligns with their values, and VOTE! π¨π¦
update: he has now said, "You've published 2 children's books? Wow. Some people want to publish all of their lives and never do it."
Seriously. Take my money.
Getting a new furnace today. One of the guys working on it has so far:
-Exclaimed with pure excitement about the robins gathering in my yard.
-Remarked on how me and my elder cat are living our best lives.
I shall only be calling this HVAC crew from this day forward.
I miss The Weakerthans. #CanadianMusic
Building community helps community.
Been trying to think about what I can do to feel better about the world right now. My solution. Invite friends over for an art-making pot-luck.
Have I got the shopping order right?

Anyone know a cat food brand that is made in Canada (and hopefully won't break the bank!). #madeincanada #elbowsup
In my Food&Culture class at college today students were discussing water as a commodity. Should it be for sale? Who should govern it? etc. There were a lot of great ideas with interesting variety. The one thing they all were in agreement on... None of our water for the USA. (they'e paying attention)
I don't agree with everything that my left-leaning friends say and do but I'm never left questioning their humanity.
I've been walking away from friends and acquaintances lately based on conversations where they express far right views (conspiracy rhetoric etc). I don't hate them. I'm not mad. But being in their company makes me feel ... gross.
Watching the interview right now where Zelenskyy is being asked βHave you said thank-you once?β is making my blood boil & my heart sink.
Have a look at this page from my Pixie and the Fox book.
βDonβt overreact.β βIβm only trying to help you.β
Words spoken by bullies & abusers.
Just found out that my 18-year-old figured out how to vote in their current address (for school, not permanent) and has cast his very first vote ever. So proud!!
I admit to having zero hope in this provincial election. BUT I just got back from voting with my 21 year old because I refuse to be apathetic.
I talked to my 21 year old son about this. I had him take bystander intervention webinar with me a few years ago presented by @julieslalonde.bsky.social & we talked about what the bystanders in this situation could have done in a way that was safe(perhaps the folks in this audience should take it)
I'll have to do a bunch of grading at some point. Since I'm not a full-time employee I don't get paid for this week off. But will will grade over 150 assignments (because my students deserve to know their marks). This isn't a complaint but just a reality of the job.
I'm on reading week at the college I teach at & my only plans are to hang out with my eldest son (who is home also on reading week), have coffee dates with pals, visit my parents, write my book & do jigsaw puzzles. (oh, and vote!)
