Why is generative AI slop bad for language learning?
Because it's a RANDOM word generator!
Putting aside the theft/world burning ethical issues, LLMs are designed to pick the likelihood of a word based on the words that came before it. They're not designed to BE accurate but to SOUND accurate.

Contexte Après l'affaire Betharram, une commission d’enquête a été créée à l’Assemblée nationale. Elle est co-rapportée par deux élus de bords opposés : Paul Vannier (LFI) et Violette Spillebout (Renaissance). Plus de 100 personnes sont auditionnées. 50 propositions sont retenues dans le rapport final. Une année de travail, qui aboutit finalement à une proposition de loi.
Cette loi prévoit : La reconnaissance solennelle par la nation des violences physiques, psychologiques et sexuelles subies par des enfants dans le cadre scolaire et périscolaire. La création d'un fonds national d'indemnisation pour les victimes, afin notamment de financer les soins, le soutien psychologique et l’assistance juridique. L’interdiction explicite des châtiments corporels et des traitements humiliants dans le cadre scolaire. Le renforcement des contrôles sur les intervenants scolaires et, plus généralement, les établissements privés sous contrat. Rappelons qu’au rythme actuel des contrôles, il faudrait 1500 ans pour inspecter les 7500 établissements privés sous contrat. 1500 ans.
Soyons clair : ce texte est une remarquable démonstration de ce que peut être un travail transpartisan. Il a été élaboré par deux députés de bords opposés, en lien avec les associations de victimes, avec la collaboration du ministère de l'Éducation nationale, avant d’être signé par 142 députés issus de 9 groupes politiques différents. C'est ce que la délibération parlementaire peut produire de meilleur.
