Handmade ceramic jars that look like an incredibly cute Balrog from Lord of the rings. It’s more of a baby Balrog. They have a big smile, two little fangs, and horns. On top of the jar, to lift the lid is a tiny, very happy flame. The finish on these pieces is textured to look like Stone with red under glaze and black over that. It gives the effect of lava and flame. Did I mention they were cute? They are very cute.

Look at the baby Balrog jars I made! Can’t wait to fire these guys!

Reflections on 2025:
It was… rough. My mom died in January. I had some completely unnecessary stressors at my “real” job. America is kinda fucking itself over and taking us all with it.
But it was also pretty great. The ocean is close and it continues to pound, regardless of what we humans do.

Question for those who art at markets. How do you manage sales tax when someone pays cash? Do you use a calculator and give change? Do you just have a bunch of change? Do you round down 10c to avoid extra coins? Do you just eat the tax? Avoid cash?
