We must stand together, use all platforms, demand for more visibility and funding for LGBTQI research.
Sexual and gender diversity remain powerful indicators of the quality of Democracies.

Same in Portugal, many of us will not set foot in the US for a while. It's simply not safe for scholars engaged in academic freedom and human rights. The costs of this deranged authoritarian turn will last for decades.

Trump asks? We answer.

Academic freedom is non-negotiable.
We'll respond to Trump's anti-DEI obsession w/ more & more research on each of the forbidden words, more & more books to fill the shelves emptied by force, more & more transfeminist & queer PhD programmes.

🌈 On day 16 of LGBTQ+ History Month, we honour Lili Elbe, a Danish trans woman and one of the first known recipients of gender-affirming surgery. Her story, later told in The Danish Girl, highlights both the risks and resilience of early trans pioneers in their fy for authenticity.

I've just heard about the sudden death of one of the greatest. Without #MichaelBurawoy, we wouldn't have the public and engaged sociology I believe in. This is a hard blow at a time when his courage, intelligence and irreverence, all of which absolutely brilliant, will be sorely missed. RIPower ✊🏽💔
