Anyway if we're talking ROI, scope is obviously a big matter. If you want to ship AAA games fast, you either have to put a huge lot of people on it, and/or multiple studios, working on slow evolving techs and toys, or put 10 years into each project, a la Rockstar.
That doesn't really make sense.
Right, right. Though most of the time in the top 100 selling games on Steam, <20 games are above $45 (including the ones that are way below $50), whatever the scope or age.
Ignoring this is while being an actor of the VG industry is at the very least irresponsible.

It's a tile-based 3d modeling tool packed with features, and quite fun to use! You set a tileset with arbitrary sized tiles, and mine uses 32x32, hence the pixel art aesthetic. Basically you can put/stitch squares in your 3d scene, move vertices, and edit UVs to your liking.

I'd love to! My art skills are pretty limited though.
The animations would definitely benefit from some extra prod value, like with hair flowing, clothes deformation, smear frames and stuff βΊοΈ
It's a 3d model I captured into 256x256px textures, for the albedo and the normals also.
I wanted the retro vibe, but if it's pretty lightweight in compute for the CPU and the GPU, the RAM takes a hit for sure (around 600MB for the whole moveset).
The character is a billboard with 10fps sprite animations, parallel to the camera frustum, with some damping going on πββοΈ The pixels are not always the same size on screen, but it's smoother this way, and ultimately not a huge tradeoff, especially since the moves are not that big, as she has no legs π
