Kash Patel always looks like he's wearing a giant remote-controlled butt plug that someone just turned on and Pam Bondi always looks like she's the one who turned it on.

Formerly Eclectablog and Chair of the Washtenaw County Democratic Party, increasingly old, always hyper-liberal. In general, I'd rather be disc golfing and gardening. Based in Dexter, MI, just outside of Ann Arbor. Married to @savage-girl.bsky.social.
Kash Patel always looks like he's wearing a giant remote-controlled butt plug that someone just turned on and Pam Bondi always looks like she's the one who turned it on.
Iβm guessing Trump is assuming he will somehow get to pick the next Pope.
Headline from The Washington Post that reads "Florida teacher loses job for calling student by preferred name" with a sub-headline reading "Itβs the first known dismissal stemming from the conservative campaign to limit schools' recognition of transgender identity."
Florida, where compassion and empathy go to DIE.
Picture of Kid Rock smiling and wearing a brightly-colored shirt with the text "Kid Rock on President Trump's tariffs: 'Great news for Detroit in my opinion'".
Turns out Kid Rock is an expert in tariffs and international trade. Who knew? Β―\_(γ)_/Β―
What effect will travel bans and ICE actions have on Interlochen Arts Academy? Are her multinational teachers and international students uneasy? Is the academy's commitment to diversity steadfast? @iprnews.bsky.social @chadlivengood.bsky.social @mitchtreadwell.bsky.social @chrissavage.bsky.social
Screenshot of article that reads: βThat doesnβt bother me,β Trump told reporters in the Oval Office. βI want to find if thereβs any mistake or if Signal doesnβt work β it could be that Signal is not a very good company, and maybe itβs not very good. I think weβd rather know about it now.β
HEβS BLAMING SIGNAL!!! π«π
President Donald Trump holds an executive order after signing it Thursday at the White House. (image from Mandel Ngan/AFP/Getty Images). In the background are six children who appear to be signing and then holding up their own executive orders.
It's hard to put into words how disgusting it is that he did this with these children as props. What an incredibly sick toad he is.
This is a truly fantastic piece by @michaellewis65.bsky.social that tells an epic story while pointing out the incredible importance of so-called "faceless bureaucrats" that work in and run our public health & healthcare systems. If nothing else, read the last paragraph. wapo.st/4buoiLX

Just read this graf. Share it with people you know who donβt pay attention to politics or news.
On 9/20/75, "No More Kings" was released as part of the SchoolHouse Rock series. The impact on indigenous people is glossed over, but the movie short clearly spells out the American belief that we will never be governed by a king. Worth remembering in these perilous times. youtu.be/WvOZs3g3qIo?...
Is it too much to ask to want the government to stop the president from doing the illegal stuff?
I love me a good, hearty clap back to manboob-having mansplainer from a hyper smart lady scientist.
This is an essential thread. Please share widely. #medsky
As doctors, we can tell the stories of our patients who depend on these critical programs in op-eds, town halls & press conferences. We must speak up, we can't be silent, & we have political power to hold these politicians accountable when they put our patients in harmβs way. /end #medsky
We can hold these Republicans accountable. The most important thing for every member of Congress is re-election. In 2026, every member of the House of Reps will face the voters. We must let them know that their vote on health care cuts will be top of mind for voters. 12/13
These billionaires include 25 political appointees, Trump, and his family who will all benefit greatly from the tax cuts that they want to enact on the backs of low-income Americans and children. www.citizen.org/article/trum... 11/13
And why do they want to save all of this money? Is it to reduce the debt? Is it to send to everyday Americans? Not a chance. It is to provide tax cuts to billionaires and the biggest corporations. www.epi.org/blog/the-hou... 10/13
Simply put, Trump & his admin want to make it harder for eligible individuals to enroll/renew, all to save $160B. Donβt fall for this number β it would take health care away from adults & kids who qualify but are unable to navigate the red tape involved in the bureaucracy. 9/13
The CBO has estimated that Medicaid βwork requirementsβ could result in 1.5 million people losing health care. And data clearly shows that the vast majority of Medicaid recipients work or have valid reasons not to be working. www.kff.org/medicaid/iss... 8/13
Medicaid block grants would cap the amount of federal funding to states irrespective of the needs of the enrollees in the state, resulting in fewer people covered. This would have been a disaster in the pandemic, and will put real lives at risk in the future. 7/13
Some proposed cuts incl. reducing the federal matching rate for Medicaid expansion under the #ACA from 90% to the usual rate. This would put 20 mil people at risk of losing health care incl. 3 million+ in states with trigger laws that would end expansion. kffhealthnews.org/news/article... 6/13
Without these programs, the outcomes of my recent patients, and millions of others, could be catastrophic, or their medical debt could be crippling, and they may have become among the hundreds of thousands seeking help with medical bills on sites like GoFundMe. kffhealthnews.org/news/article... 5/13
These programs cover the infant I saw 3 weeks ago with RSV and hypoxia who had to be transferred to the regional childrenβs hospital for care. And the young man with 2 low-paying jobs who had appendicitis and was able to go home the same day after an appendectomy. 4/13
Medicaid and #CHIP currently cover over 79 million in the US including nearly 38 million kids. During the pandemic, a dual public health and economic crisis, that number increased to over 92 million. www.kff.org/coronavirus-... 3/13
When they tried to cut #Medicaid in Trump's first term, I had an encounter with then VP @Mike_Pence in early 2020 explaining why it is such a critical program for my patients and the community that I serve. 2/13
As an ER doc in a rural community for nearly 25 years, Trumpβs admission that he is going back on his promise to βnot cut Medicaidβ is alarming. Hereβs why we cannot let it blend into the βnoiseβ of all of his actions. And a bit on what we can do about it. 1/13
