Reading all the comics and figuring out how to best collect them so you don't have to. Fan of everything except that one thing you like. Everything else is cool. Always writing at crushingkrisis.com Often appearing on Near Mint Condition In NZ π₯

Anna Peppard continues to never miss! A brilliant summation of the recent return of cheesecake! As someone who was put off from Marvel for decades due specifically to Carolβs depiction, I couldnβt agree more!
New 52 was a line-wide reboot and some fanbases never forgave what they lost in the relaunch. The Absolute characters are relieved of the burden of honoring the βtrueβ versions of the icons, and it makes the readers more open-minded about the vast differences
Get ready, Minties!

76 seconds of absolute superhero camp.

Love this answer @jeremywhitley.bsky.social gave in this interview! Help us make The Girlfriend Survives/SLAY! Zoop.gg/c/slay
I've been waiting literal DECADES for the original Chaos Comics characters to be collected coherently.
It's finally happening.
I have a guide to Lady Death that explains EVERY SINGLE APPEARANCE she makes in these comics. Can't wait to own them all in one format!

A wide video thumbnail with the following text: HOW TO COLLECT X-MEN OMNIBUSES [Near Mint Condition Logo] In the background are the covers of several famous milestone issues of X-Men, including X-Men (1991) #30 and X-Men (2021) #35.
Coming Friday @6p on @nearmintcon.bsky.social:
How to collect X-Men omnibuses! Every. Single. One.
Omar and I will attempt to replicate my entire site AND his video reading guides in a single live stream covering 61yrs of flagship X-Men titles.
It will be epic or an epic disaster. Don't miss it.
If it goes badly, we'll try again.
If it goes well, we'll try again but have Omar drink more beers and me drink more coffees to make it harder.

HEY PUBLISHERS: pay attention to this entire thread; and recognize that a HUGE part of the problem is assigning comics projects to editors with no comics knowledge or experience. Editing comics is a discrete discipline, and when you don't recognize that, you fuck both creators and yourself over.
In which I'm a lil' stinker by opining, "DC is publishing comics and Marvel is publishing content."
a good list; even better writing
For all of you Lars Lovers out there, my favorite Norwegian Assassin will be live on Old Reader / New Reader in 10 minutes to talk about one of his favorite Hellblazer runs with @wondermaddie.bsky.social!!!

Not sure there is anything more cringe Marvel Comics could do in 2026 than have a man write Carol Danvers in a retcon story so that they can sell covers of her in her swimsuit costume, but I have faith they can do even worse.
There is messy, and there is really messy, and then much further down the spectrum there is whatever the X-Men line is right now level of messy.
As another year draws to a close, I stick to my standard line that I don't trust any "Best Comics of the Year" list from someone who didn't read at least 50% of all comic series released in whatever format they're listing.
Otherwise, it's just a "Some Favorite Comics of Mine" list π€·ββοΈ
Are you devouring a side of Stranger Things Season 5 with your turkey?
If you can't get enough of the Upside Down check out my new guide to EVERY Stranger Things comic book & novel in perfect reading order.
No other guide got it all right (not even the wiki)

Did you know: The animated "Age of Apocalypse" two parter that aired after the comic book event actually inspired the comic book event?
I break down the mechanics of how that's possible for @comicsxf.com (sadly it doesn't involve any actual time travel) #XMen #XMen97

Whenever I say this, people get Really Mad, but it's true. Same of any other art, too. You have to read the book, watch the film, see the painting, listen to the song, whatever.
I'm sorry, but watching a video about it on YouTube is not enough. You have not experience the art.
One problem resolved, two more appear in its place π
I've been out of commission for videos all this month, and that will likely continue another few weeks.
This is made doubly annoying because I have *such* a huge haul stack right now!
(And I even got a new laptop, for those of you following the lure lore!)
BUT: CK has new guides for Patrons π
Funny you call it "critic proof," I feel like I've never heard anyone say anything critically kind about it in the past five years. But, maybe that's just the curmudgeons I run with π
MARVEL LOGO Hi True Believer, The Marvel Developer Portal will be sunset. We want to thank you for creating amazing, uncanny and incredible web sites and applications using data from the 85-plus years of the Marvel age of comics. We hope you were able to build cool stuff with the worldβs greatest comics API!
Well, that sucks: Marvel is shuttering their amazing API.
Everyone wants a damn walled garden of data.
Launched two new guides that are potentially only interesting to an audience of me, but happy to be back to work in the comic mines.
(Not coincidentally, I'm unable to stream at the moment.)
Hoping to knock out some smaller and more esoteric titles/characters before tackling bigger guides in 2026.
Cover of beneath the trees where nobody sees by Patrick Horvath.
Finally got to Patrick Horvathβs Beneath The Trees Where Nobody Sees, which was as good as everyone says. Cute animal art filter over territorial serial killer story. Turns out shitting is the least concerning thing bears do in the woods.
Fourteen hours into my first new reading order for Patrons since earlier this year.
The finish line is almost in sight, but... whew. I picked a hell of a guide to finish for Halloween. It might be the death of me.
