That’s not workable. I live in one of the states in the best position to secede, but parts of my state would start blocking off stretches of I-5. California has more Trump voters than lots of red states. And they are armed.

No. I’m saying you get 20 Democrats in a room, you may get 20 different opinions on the best approach to an issue. Add 3 independents and a couple of DSA into the mix, you’ll get more. Those 8 thought ending the shutdown was top priority. I do not agree. My senators votes reflected my opinion.

But they probably won’t be if their actions were prompted by feedback from their constituents. I know a ton of people in CA called Kaine, including myself, but calls from VA voters mattered more. Lots of federal workers in that state.
