Trump letter banning DEI in schools is dead after legal appeal is dropped The Education Department said it would accept a federal judge’s order killing guidance issued by the Trump administration in February on civil rights law.

The Education Department sent universities and K-12 school districts a letter stating that they may be violating federal law if they consider race in any way.

But after a defeat in court, the Trump administration says it is dropping the matter entirely.
