my public high school soccer team played at Hotchkiss once and the campus left me in awe as a kid who grew up essentially in farm country.
Hotchkiss, the Connecticut Prep School, Platner attended, is for rich kids, and always been for rich kids. I had some friends who attended the local prep school near where I grew up (Berkshire School). I would not consider Hotchkiss to be the type of New England Private school Grim describes.

Its always unnerving to see people talking about war like its sports game, supporting their respective teams, like its not something with extraordinary destruction that, under the BEST of circumstances, those who haven't been obliterated, will need to spend many decades attempting to rebuild from.
Some are lazy, some are cowards, and some will go out of their way to tell the people doing the work to shut up and go home.
