TBF that bit is ok. A certain form of MMRM is equivalent to a certain MI, without the Monte Carlo error of MI. Calling MI (without any further info) a sensitivity analysis for this is wrong.

I assume lots of you are also receiving this. Somehow the entire message comes off as dripping with contempt.
Hooold!
Stumbled across this podcast on clinical trials today and enjoyed it. I like skilled interviews talking to experts and this is that. cc @andygarrett.bsky.social @timpmorris.bsky.social

I love when someone quotes a good bit of ancient wisdom
They’re just winding you up now
The double horror of no sun and no viable way to begin a conversation with someone you’ve seen in the last 3 weeks 😱
See you get how to do this
My mother-in-law just sent “This rain 🌧️🤨” to the family whatsapp and within 60s almost everyone had replied with the current rain status in their locality. Take THAT everyone who says the weather isn’t a banger of a conversation starter.
Preprint!📢
We examined reporting- and open science practices in simulation studies in psychology with a questionnaire
Importantly, we asked ‘why?’
Why were results omitted? Why weren’t MCSEs reported?
Also: how do researchers evaluate simulation studies in their field?

Peter O'Hanraha-hanrahan on a TV screen from the fictional satirical comedy series, The Day Today with Chris Morris as the news anchor in the studio
I was chatting to a friend about AI, academia, fraud, authenticity and creativity and for some reason it led me down a rabbit hole to the classic satirical TV news show, The Day Today; and the great bluffer of the reporting world, Peter O'Hanraha-hanrahan.
Bear with me on this one...

I enjoyed this immensely. Suddenly desperate to rewatch it all!
As a former academic PI still carries a certain weight for me so it’s gotta be UK Private Investigators
Suggestions for my possible affiliation. It’s selected ‘LETS Go UK, Portsmouth, United Kingdom’, but then offered some others: ‘We found potential matches. Please review the suggestions below: - UK Athletics, BIRMINGHAM, GB - UK Private Investigators, LONDON, GB - United Kingdom Anti-Doping Ltd, LONDON, GB - United Kingdom National External Quality Assessment Service, SHEFFIELD, GB - The United Kingdom Environmental Law Association, BRISTOL, GB - Search for a different affiliation’
Wonderful bit of ‘added value’ here. New manuscript system seems to use ‘AI’ to suggest my primary affiliation for an accepted paper. That the paper is accepted means I already told the system my affiliation. What a superb list 😆
What’s your personal protocol when you receive an “as per my earlier email” but the thing was not in fact in the earlier email?
Tumbleweed?
Hand wash can also be pretty direct

Don't you f**king dare.
I've done an analysis where the outcome unit was in hours, and in the results we report decimal hours (e.g. 0.89 hours) rather than in HH:MM. A respected colleague thinks we should use the later. Who is more correct? True pedants only please.
*ahem* @timpmorris.bsky.social
You just know people will interpret 0.89 hours as 1h29m. So I’d go defensive and use HH:MM
Thank you to the company who just emailed this reassurance/encouragement 😘
😆 as a treat. Is there a limit on the number of treats we can reward ourselves with per paper?
Please can someone create a bot that replies to all covid commentary papers with the title followed by ‘(needless to say, I had the last laugh)’ appended?

Worth remembering when looking at the horrific scenes in the US right now that both Reform and the Tories have pledged to bring in ICE-style organisations to the UK if they win power

Glad you spotted that small show of contempt (also comic sans)
