Gotcha, so more of a "magic shouldn't solve everything" type mentality
Now, by costs, do you mean like a mana point system, fatigue system, or some other resource drain?
Star wars ffg, legends of the five rings (3e or 4e), Fabula Ultima, and Anima: Beyond Fantasy.
I think that gives a wide variety of dice systems and styles of play
Looks pretty good.
Thank you for the advice. Have a great day!
True. Stuff like that got me wondering on if you had complete control of what you could end up doing, do you stick to your plan or go with the flow?
I consider myself a jack of all trades, so the go with the flow style suits me a bit better, though frustrating at times.
I feel that. That's usually what I do too, but I'm in a SW FFG campaign, and I had a clear idea of what I wanted to do, and as the game continued I had felt the need to deviate a little. Then a little more. Until finally I was similar to what I wanted but with extra bits and bobs.
Been a minute since my last post. Been in the process of moving and it's been hectic. Anyways, thought for the day.
TTRPG: Which is more important to you, sticking to a build path of skills to optimize your character, or building a character's skills based on the happenings of the campaign?
I have a couple TTRPGs in my mind palace that I've locked away, but would love to make more than just a concept. If you would like to work with me on these projects, please reach out. In no particular order, I want to work on the following
-Dark Souls
-Star Wars
-Martial Arts / Cultivation?
Worked on another personal project music video this morning. Not entirely happy with it, but gonna get some input before progressing further. Here's to hoping it turns out well.
I want to get back into writing. I dont want to jump directly back into my book, so that leaves me with writing a short story. Now the question remains, do I write something that explores magic systems and share it, or do I write something embarrassing and keep it locked away forever?
Recurring Reverie will be hosting an online rules discussion next Saturday. If you are interested in LARPing, reach out. This is free, and even if you don't live near DFW, Tx, I can help teach you about using my system or designing your own!
Very cool! How was the game?
Alrighty friends, foes, and everyone in-between, the second edition of my LARP, Recurring Reverie, is coming along nicely. Not quite sure when I'll run it as life is hectic currently, but I'm excited!
Also, if any of my online TTRPG tables open up soon, I'd be willing to bring new players in!
Depends on the day and time, but yeah, I'd be interested
What is some of your favorite tabletop game systems? Do you have any homebrew rules you like to implement?
For me, when I run Star Wars fantasy flight games version, I double force rating. When I run Anima: Beyond Fantasy I like to give some extra starting Creation Points (starting feat stuff)
Update on my LARP, Recurring Reverie, we are entering second edition. I just need to do a couple things. First is to balance skill costs (mostly done), and need to rebuild the character sheets. Once that is done we will run a few games. If you are in the DFW area and want to try LARPing, DM me!
Woke up this morning and came up with some ideas on how to rework my LARP. I'm excited to get some more work done on it. Can't wait to share more as time progresses
Dresden files larp? I'm certain @leighaaden.bsky.social would like that
I'm currently working on my own martial arts TTRPG, but if you ever want to work on your own TTRPG like that, I'd be happy to help you with mechanics and stuff.
Working on a semi simple martial arts TTRPG, and I think it's coming along nicely. Started this morning officially, and it's got a solid foundation! I can't wait to show it off eventually.
Hey yall, been a while since I posted. Lot of stuff has been happening in my personal life I don't want to talk about. But I'm back, and I'm ready to talk TTRPGs, writing, music, and game design.
Speaking of, I really need to sit down and learn Unreal Engine 5. YouTube tutorials here I come.
Can't escape can ya?
Kick it's ass back! Get that flammenwerfer i think you so desperately need.
Which book?
I'm definitely out of shape. I'm doing a small walk on my break which is good, but I can't wait to do some combat at LARP in a few weeks! I just gotta make sure not to over do it
Celebrating my recent birthday with my folks tomorrow. We are going to play games and have a good time. Then I run home and play a ttrpg, then maybe run one immediately after. It'll be busy but good.
Labor of love. But also you learn so much by doing these things. And create unique experiences
Just recently got back into listening to bardcore style covers of songs to hype me for the LARP season starting soon.
