Yeah, unfortunately it’s just virtue signaling as of now. What the Trump admin is doing is actively damaging to their brand, yet they regularly take legal action against small fan projects & fanart instead.

I am (for once) rooting for their lawyers on that tariff lawsuit, though!

Yeah, being so aggressive with copyright doesn’t contribute to a healthy fan culture for such a massive brand. A community of fan artists creating tiny trinkets offers free advertising, builds hype for the brand, and doesn’t cut into their sales AT ALL. So it’s pretty annoying!

Meanwhile there’s thousands of active Etsy listings of people selling unlicensed plush, keychains, CLOTHING, ect… using those trademarks.

It’s a little annoying when copyright is applied so inconsistently. But oh well, I was fully aware that it might happen eventually!

I was really confused this week. Some of my Pokémon fanart keychain posts were doing so well on social media, but I was selling ZERO

I just realized that I got DMCA’d by Nintendo and the listings were gone. Posts got too popular on Twitter. Oh well. x3

(At least on other apps x3 I don’t use bookmarks here that much!)

I know that a long time ago (before bookmarks were introduced on Twitter) people would retweet to “save” a post so that it wouldn’t get buried in their likes! I still do this myself sometimes

I do this too lol, I almost never check my bookmarks anywhere (besides Instagram, since there’s actual folders!)
