I once pitched an article to a gaming magazine with the headline “Ten Games that SUCKED” and the premise was that it was just all about games with vacuum cleaner or suction mechanics. Blinx was a highlight.

The core mechanic of the video game I’m making in my spare time feels really good. Responsive and fun to just mess around with. That has to mean something.
Ever think about how special effects in movies changed the way people think of magic?? Prior, people thought of magic as a force or vague elemental effects, right? Once we could make a guy shoot lightning out of his fingers, how is magic thought of?? Usually as a visual effect, no?
It’s like, all he thought about for 30 years straight. He invented a universe of lore, much of which has never been glimpsed by anyone outside his family. There’s a great story of his friends at the pub freaking out because he wouldn’t stop talking about elves.

Just here to once again point out that they built a whole universe using some of the most talented people, spent tons of money, and ended up making a game where you just murder murder murder. Wasted opportunity. AAA games will never grow up. It's always murder fantasy, and its killing the medium.
