As someone who infrequently buys digital, I've noticed my prices are often lower. Probably trying to shift me from physical spending.

Wouldn't have*
I kinda get it, but if Sony had just stayed the course originally, we would've have gotten the few PC ports we got. But I get where you're coming from. Feels like a bait and switch even if it really isn't
I get the comparison, but there's lots of apps that are only on Android and vice versa.
I too wish for more games accessible for more people though, in whatever form that works.
The strategy Nintendo is currently using has historically been the one to follow
I still think from their perspective it's not worth putting their platform at risk. They'll end up in the position Microsoft is currently in.
Part of the reason they are leaving PC Is the poor sales aren't worth putting their platform at risk.
At this point. And while PCs are still getting more powerful, most of the improvements are in machine learning, not raw compute. And raw compute is what will be needed to emulate PS5. We are likely a decade away (or more) from emulating PS5.
The bigger problem is power. Previously your hardware needed to be 10x more powerful than the device you were emulating in order to hit acceptable framerates. This is less so since the consoles switched to x86, but there is still not a consumer PC that exists that could emulate a PS5-
-industry and economy were better.
Lmao nailed it.
I mean personally I'm conflicted because I think more games on more platforms is always a good thing for consumers. But it doesn't make sense to love your switch for the exclusive Nintendo games while simultaneously bemoaning PS for having some of their own.
I just wish the-
I've seen a lot of people who currently own PS5s and even like them say "I think I'm going to go PC only next gen, since PS games are going there anyway" I imagine it's stuff like that Sony is worried about. I feel like they kinda already contributed to Xboxs problems.
Ohhhhh you're probably right lol.
Keeps the console manufacturers healthy. (3/3)
Literally the reason Nintendo does so well. It's also why the PS1, PS2 and PS4 were so successful. If you do feel strongly regardless that exclusives shouldn't exist, you should apply that same standard to Nintendo. Personally I want whatever allows people to play the most games, while also (2/3)
Sony wants exclusive games on their platform just like Nintendo does. Historically speaking, if you wanted to play a Nintendo game, you needed a Nintendo console
This has also almost always been true of PlayStation as well. It sucks to need dedicated hardware to play games. But exclusives are (1/2)
I do not understand people who love their exclusive Nintendo games being upset at PlayStation drawing back from PC and investing in exclusives again.
Feels like thinly veiled console wars.
Sony and Microsoft were both their healthiest when they followed the exclusive model. The PS2 and PS4 were a success specifically because of their exclusive game approach. The Xbox 360 was the same. Nintendo does it because it works, that's exactly why Sony is going back to it.
People buy the console for God of war, Saros, Returnal, Ratchet. gran Turismo, Spider-Man etc. It's 2026, we gotta leave the console wars behind
We are likely 15 years away from a PS5 emulator
They are more concerned with losing their console audience to PC, not worried about converting PC users to PS.
It's less about getting PC players and more about keeping people from switching to PC
I mean the entire article is spent placing every poor move at Bonds feet, completely absolving/sidestepping Phil and Nadella's impact, while simultaneously deflecting criticism from the new CEO. Microsoft themselves couldn't have written a better angle.
Reeks of access journalism/Microsoft PR. Expected better from the verge tbh.
OOPS DEMO IS ON SWITCH ALSO <3

Under the Island (Minish Cap-inspired Action RPG) launches today
Demo on PSN and Steam
looks like something @andresplays.bsky.social would dig?
I am also playing with mods! I went through that popular modlist on nexusmods everyone uses. I mostly use it to bypass the minigames and use whatever guns I want. It looks gorgeous with the ALOT mod
man I hope this gets a PS port. but if not I'll definitely pick this bad boy up on steam!
yeah I finished 1 recently and I'm going through 2. I am mind blown at how big (but still dense with content that is fun) it is. So many games of this size go too far and lose the tight game design.
I prefer 2, but some parts of 1 I do miss (not the mako)
Been playing mass effect legendary edition, and it's honestly kinda insane a game like this can even exist.
You have any games that you feel like are so incredibly good you sometimes can't believe they are even real?
