So what’s actually changed?

JBS backs away from sustainability officer’s comments on emissions goals JBS has been accused by Mighty Earth of renegading on its environmental commitments as opposition to a planned US listing mounts.

JBS CSO Jason Weller had said in an interview that its net-zero target was an "aspiration" rather than a "promise". Asked by Just Food to clarify those comments, the company issued a statement that suggested Weller may have stepped out of line.

Mighty Earth responds to JBS’ claim that it never promised to be Net Zero by 2040 - Mighty Earth Brazilian meat giant JBS has claimed that the company’s net-zero emissions pledge was β€œnever a promise” and that it only has an β€œaspiration” to be Net Zero by 2040.

Brazilian meat giant JBS has claimed that the company's net-zero emissions pledge was "never a promise." These comments are a clumsy attempt to evade accountability and to wash its hands for its outsized impact on the planet. mightyearth.org/article/migh...
