The R's like to brag about how they've made the U.S. "energy independent," but we still import a couple hundred million barrels of oil annually, and are immediately hit with higher gas prices when imports are threatened. I guess they don't really understand what "independent" means. 🙄

We're fortunate that we can read historical documents from hundreds or thousands of years ago that were stored on paper or clay. Our descendants may not be so lucky with our digital records, unless we start thinking more about long term storage of them.

We keep cramming more memory into our devices and building more data centers to store more data in the cloud, but at the rate we keep producing data, we're still going to run out of room (or out of time, as storage eventually degrades). Time to rethink data storage. 🤔
