They are still kidnapping our neighbors.
Abolish ICE.

But also, I admit when they did the heel prick I had to steel myself because my inner voice was like “no don’t put a hole in my perfect baby!” I have two parents who worked in public health and could squash the voice because newborn screening is important. But what if all you have is social media?
When we were in the hospital over 10 years ago, our baby needed formula—which is fine! Fed is good! The pediatrician came to us and opened with “formula is not poison.” We were quick to be like—omg no you have us in the wrong bucket. This train started leaving the station so long ago.
There is also incredible pressure to be an “ideal” parent who does everything perfectly, ratcheting up the demands and expectations like we’re on some torture device.
You have to actively resist it. But when you seek out information for a challenge (sleep, for example) you’re bombarded.
*in his writing.
I also didn’t realize that Cal Thomas (who I’ve always found irritating and condescending in his writer) felt bad for his role in contributing to this cultishness. Of course, he still voted for Trump because I guess he doesn’t care that much about continuing the downward spiral.
Like, don’t be saccharine to my face. But I didn’t realize how much worse it has gotten inside those churches. American flags in a church? Wild and scary. My lack of understanding the architecture of that belief system that makes it vulnerable to MAGA causes me to lack understanding of our reality.
I’m reading the book “The Kingdom, the Power, and the Glory: American Evangelicals in an Age of Extremism” and I’m very uncomfortable even with the baseline concept underlying the belief system because it has always rankled me with the “hate the sin, love the sinner” nonsense as a a lesbian.
My current dive into “I don’t understand any religion well outside mainstream Catholicism” includes this show.
I really struggle with understanding evangelicalism, and getting it out of my head that hypocrisy is a critique that matters (or that is actually accurate within the belief system).
Child: “is this the cast iron skillet guy”?
I listen to him a bit much I think.
It’s day 94 of the ICE occupation of MN.
Today we’re celebrating Jason Chavez, a local hero in the resistance to ICE.
I love the song Alabama Pines. It’s been really nice to have streaming concerts over the last little bit.
NEW “We’re celebrating a tradition that is at its core about resisting occupation and maintaining community in the face of horrors. You can’t keep politics out of Irish music. No one should try, for two reasons. First, it’s ahistorical. Second, Minnesotans are ready for a big anti-fascist party.”
Is it gay that I think my grandma’s brother shouldn’t have been war crimed by the Nazis?
I really do think these people think they’re going to bring on the rapture.
We get another streaming concert tonight, this time Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit.
Screenshot of ProPublica webpage titled “Explore Financial Disclosures From President Trump and 1,500 of His Appointees,” accompanied by this blurb: “Use this database to explore potential conflicts of interest for President Donald Trump and his team. The documents disclose positions officials have held outside government, their assets and their debts, among other things.” A search bar prompts the user to search for a person or financial holding.
THREAD: We just released a tool that allows you to search billions of dollars in wealth, ties to the most powerful companies in the country, and details of the personal finances of President Trump and over 1,500 of his appointees.
Here’s how it works 1/

I do love this weirdo-filled state.

Glad to see Sen Smith cosponsoring this!
So strange! I thought the same thing.

I saw a bumper sticker for Prager U this morning, which was very weird to see in the wild.
There’s a budget line I have that’s historically a bit of a slush called “household goods.” It was always going over. Then we stopped shopping at Target. It is consistently way under budget now.
The longer they do this, the more I get used to not spending money.
Ah all the adhd influencers are sliding into Claude promotional content. Fix your disordered brain by turning your entire data archive over to a platform.

My friend is organizing an art show fundraiser at Indigenous Roots later this month to benefit StPCAN. I believe they’re still taking submissions—so if you are/know artists let them know!
MPD has not submitted a single case involving federal agents for charging. Tomorrow MPD will be before the council, I want to hear from them why. Neighbors have seen way more than their fair share of criminal behavior by ICE
