Guess it’s time to apply for citizenship. I’ve had IDL since 2001. I’ve paid taxes my whole time here. I contribute to the economy and I hope positively to national benefit through my research. I’ve taught thousands of students. I have no words for this.

I came to London for a meeting early this morning that got cancelled last minute! These things happen. I’ve filled the time with other meetings w/ folk who have made time for me. I visited @theguardian.com offices (cool!) and I’ve been sampling tempura crab #Tacos. #Taqueria pion #Clerkenwell win.

We have got to stop framing household #foodinsecurity as an emergency needing emergency responses. It’s a #crisis that is persistent and structural for most people. They don’t just ‘bounce back’ it takes repair and rebuilding to address the problem.

Just finished the ‘inspection copy’ of my big report giving a deep dive into #foodinsecuity and #foodcub use based on the analysis of a survey of 14k+ users and non-users in living in IMD quintiles 1-3 with HH earning <£40K a year.

The causes are not just about money & FC make a difference.

I’ve been rebuilding my deck to include a bit of #edible #green (and make room for all the bl**dy bins we now have). Not quite finished, but getting there.

I’ve been using car metaphors -oil runs out, engine blows up, put more oil in, engine is still blown up or puncture tire, air comes out, put mor air in, tire still flat- but this is so much better!

If it’s a transport fetish what we should consider is the train to explain. HS2: £66-70b for a branch line too expensive for most people and will cut the journey by half an hour.
